I LOVE this idea!I always loved the idea of an early American / colonial Williamsburg type resort.
It could be (and should be) a large resort. Think of the possibilities… early American furniture, cobble stone sidewalks, early style taverns, lantern style lighting along the cable stone walkways,… the list goes on and on.
Think Liberty Tree Tavern as a resort.
Would be a fantastic theme with endless possibilities.
That said, folks are more concerned about location vs immersive theming. I’m the opposite.
I prefer AKL because of the theming. I don’t care about an extra five minutes to the parks. I want to be transported to another place.
How about a Haunted Mansion resort. Ghosts following you down the hallway. Ghosts in the mirrors in the bathroom. The walls breathe. Everytime you turn off the lights you hear that famous laugh from the stretching room. maybe pictures on the walls where the eyes follow you as you walk. A restaurant where the pictures on the walls talk to you and all the staff is in complete HM character ! The Restaurant is exactly like the HM party scene.
They wanted to build that in Virginia in the 1990'sI always loved the idea of an early American / colonial Williamsburg type resort.

They could add in Guitar Hero as a planned activity lol! What are some of your random DVC resort themes if you were to create your own DVC resort?
What about a Hair Metal themed resort? When you get to your room, it is already trashed. They play super loud hair metal music throughout the resort at all hours. Nikki Sixx is always in the room next door.
Interesting. I do remember talk of the resort, but I didn’t realize it was going to have a colonial theme. They wanted to build that in Virginia in the 1990's

Haha - love it!What about Tangled themed..... You are locked in the resort, the CM's are passive aggressive and you get to paint the walls!
Ok ok so maybe not like that but really, how about Tangled? Beautiful architecture if modeled after the castle, lovely water view with nightly lantern light show and the Snuggly Duckling as a restaurant!
That might be a little much as a hotel, but a HM themed restaurant would be really cool, IMO. I'd love to be immersed in that for a couple of hours. At my resort, not so much. How about a Haunted Mansion resort. Ghosts following you down the hallway. Ghosts in the mirrors in the bathroom. The walls breathe. I'm someone who really values easy access to the parks, but I ALSO love really great theming. I'd sacrifice location for theming if it was really something I was excited about. That said, folks are more concerned about location vs immersive theming. I’m the opposite.
