You see that... I did not know that sausages grew on trees! Leave it to a piglet lover to clear that up for me!

There used to be a keilbasa tree next to it, but the sausage tree felt inadequate. :rotfl2:

There is only 1 ride in all of Walt Disney World. Everything else is an attraction.

What is it, you ask?

The Great Movie Ride.

(there used to be 2, and then they got rid of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride)

That is true, The Contemporary was built that way.

REALLY!!! That is so cool. I wish I could see it done. People are always telling me how naive and gullible I am. Chalk one up for me.

I'm going to be checking this out when I stay there next May, for the first time in 15 visits to the world. I have coveted that resort since 1987, when I first rode the monorail through the lobby. I'm so excited. :cool1:

Splash Moutain has 2 computers. If it had half of another computer of the same power that the other 2 had, it could launch a space shuttle.

Besides the attractions at Disneyland, Splash in DL and WDW are the only 2 other attractions that opened on July 17 - Disneyland's birthday! And it's my brithday as well!

There's a hidden Tink blasted into the rocks at Thunder Mountain - you can see it if you exit the ride to the right. There's also a hidden Pooh.

Splash is the longest ride in MK, NOT IASW!!!

The reservior of Splash is 965,000 gallons and acts like a giant fish aquarium - if you fall into it, good luck getting out, the current is super strong!

In order to work at Splash, you must first pass a 101 question test and not get any more than 5 wrong.

Some codes used at WDW:
101 - Attraction broke down.
102 - Attraction up and running again.

No gas powered vehicles are allowed in the tunnels because there's no ventalation. They also smell very, VERY bad, thanks to huge dumpsters throughout them.

Along with the cookies, the fudge is made daily at the Confectionery.

Of all the Mountains in WDW, Splash is the most tempermental, breaking down about every other day. It is also the attraction with the most intrusions thanks to no safety belts - Guests do get out of logs and walk around.

The last place they evac on the Haunted Mansion is the hill going down backwards - it's the most dangerous. And the most dangerous spot on Splash is the break zone after the big drop (Drop 4).

Anyone walking back into Morocco may notice a large entrance, with two much smaller keyhole type entrance open passage doors on either side.
This is in reference to the biblical story comparing the likelihood of a rich man entering heaven against that of a camel passing through the eye of a needle.
The keyhole door passages are the eye of the needle.

That seems a little odd, since Morocco is a Muslim country and they don't follow Jesus's teachings. :confused3

Love all the trivia!

Contrary to popular belief, the "eye of the needle" is not meant to be taken literally. "Eye of the needle" was a popular euphanism for a small entryway popular in ancient times - very similar to the ones in Morocco. They were sized to accommodate a single person riding through on a donkey.

The intent of the parable was that the "rich man entering the kingdom of heaven" meant that he would not be able to take his riches with him - because he wouldn't be able to carry them through the "eye of the needle" (small doorway).

*The skippers in jungle cruise have one day to learn a 200 pg script. Also the skipper really does not drive the boat. :sail:

I realize that this is a REALLY old post, but this seems wrong to me. I work in theatre, and our general guidline is that a page of script takes about one minute to perform - so if you're working on a 10-page scene, it should last about ten minutes (assuming there are no major fight sequences, musical numbers, crazy special effects, etc...) So if the script for Jungle Cruise is 200 pages long, the ride would be over three hours long!

Reading this reminded me... when DW and I took our Wishes Cruise this past August, the boat driver talked at length to us about the considerable rivalry between the staffs of the Poly and the Grand Floridian. Seems that some people here on the DIS aren't the only ones who find the GF staff's attitude to be excessively stuffy.

Two other cool tidbits I learned whilst on the Wishes Cruise:

1) At night, when you face the water side of the Wilderness Lodge, the facade resembles the face of a bear (there's a whole legend to go with this that has something to do with actual bears and the construction of the WL, but I forgot the details...).

2) The people who handle the events such as the Wishes Cruise are also the people who maintain and staff the resort pools and, at various points throughout the day, they have to take sample readings of the water in each of the resorts pools. Well, anyway, our driver told us that he/she (don't wanna get our driver in trouble) would be happy to stay at any of the WDW resorts, excepting the All-Stars. When I asked why, he/she told us about the daily pool samples and said that it's routine for any single All-Star pool to have a higher urine reading than all of the other resort pools combined. Sheesh. He/she said it was because of the high concentration of families with children that stay there. He/she then said something to the effect of, "You know, you can only shock a pool so many times in a day before you kill someone..." :rotfl2:

Anyway, if you're on the fence about whether to book a Wishes Cruise or not, go ahead and take the plunge. It was the highlight of our trip (and believe me, our trip was full of awesome stuff)!

I'm sure this was probably pointed out already, but if not...

You can't test for Urine in pool water. There isn't a "Urine test" for pools. You can test for chlorine. And I'm sure the WDW resorts have automatic chlorine feeders (or bromine if they don't use chlorine, or salt if they use salt) that keep the sanitizer at appropriate levels. So I wouldn't worry about this if you stay at All Stars. :)

WDW uses a special paint color called "Go Away Green"
(or something like that),
to paint certain parts of certain buildings around all of the parks.
It tricks your eyes when you're seeing something
from the monorail, etc.
I'm hoping someone here knows the exact info I'm trying to share?

Really enjoying this thread ( I just read all 23 pages of it!) Keep it coming, please!

Coors and Molson companies merged almost 2 years ago and a great deal of the Canadian beer is now brewed in Golden, Colorado. Maybe that's why it's no longer served as a "Canadian Beer" in the Canadian Pavillion?

I haven't had the chance to read all the pages yet, so forgive me if this has been posted already. I know it's not Disney world, but it's Disney. At the beginning of The Little Mermaid, Mickey and Goofy are in the audience when King Triton comes in. It's only for a second, and they are small!

Wow - I read the WHOLE thread! I know I am responding to some old posts, but I can't help it!

Okay. I know a CM personally and I just aked him and he said that there are no men that dress up as girl charecters. Have you personally seen a man getting into a girl charecter's costume? :crazy2: :scared:
As for the whole is it a girl or a guy thing - Think about the height of a character. How many men are the height necessary for Mickey/Minnie/Donald etc? Wouldn’t you say that the height for Pluto/Buzz Lightyear/Mrs Incredible etc could be male or female? And, on average, how many women are tall enough to pull off Queen of Hearts or others in that range? The costumes cover their face, so you would never know! Sorry to bring this up but – I have met TinkerBelle and she is a lovely, dainty little thing!

i was a CM at epcot for four months in college, working in special events, and had no idea there was a tunnel somewhere. i'd be dying to know where - anyone have a clue? :scratchin
It is under Innoventions.

Here is one from me. In order for WDW to get city status, they had to have actual permanent residents. So, there are approx. 15 (not sure the exact number as I didn’t count them when I saw them) homes in a little neighborhood on property.
