Cool Beans Jade!!
Every generation has something that defines that generation. In my opinion, ours is books. Not just any books, but books that introduced us into a world where cars can fly, snakes can talk and staircases move. Years ago we were introduced to a little boy who lived under the stairs and through seven books we grew up with him. Through seven books filled with love, friendship, loyalty and bravery. Filled with heartbreak, loss and death. We became attached to these characters, celebrated with them when they triumphed and despaired when they failed. We grieved when our favourites died. To me, they were so much more then books. In this age of television and video games and computers, these books encouraged thousands of people, children and adults alike, to turn off the television and shut down the computer and pick up a book. To me, thats some of the greatest magic ever. So, even though all of the books have come out and soon there shall be no more movies, Harry Potter will always live on in my heart. And thats the magic of books, no matter how long its been, we can always go back.
