Random thoughts about the Wonder!

Your servers on night one might of not been on top of their game because they just had a over night in Honolulu. They don't get many over nights. Might of had a good time out in port. Can't blame them. Of course they had a over night on your cruise in Maui. But they probably didn't party as much since they just had the over night on Honolulu

Yes our servers admitted to being a little..."hung over" the morning of debarkation. They said they had a great time in Honolulu. It didn't effect our service at all. They were at great as always.

Our ship wasn't even close to being sold out. Someone on here that did the back to back said the return was even emptier. Was it really sold out?
"Sold out" is a relative term. It's possible for all rooms onboard to be reserved, but the ship not be full. DCL allows 3, 4 even 5 people to be booked in some rooms. On cruises such as the Hawaii and Panama Canal cruises, many rooms are only booked with 2 people. So while the ship may be sold old (all rooms occupied) the ship's total occupancy (number of passengers) isn't met.

I can't speak for the second cruise, but upgrades were available for our cruise.

There weren't any port upgrades available for the return cruise. I heard somewhere the total passenger count was something like 1900, and only 300 kids.

@Club Disney Chandler was kind enough to scan all of his navigators (because mine from the same cruise were accidentally recycled) and he posted them in my trip report (link in my signature).

I didn't see your post (probably because we went to Disneyland directly after the cruise docked in San Diego and most of the comments on here stopped Oct 2nd); since this was our very first cruise we had nothing to compare the cruise to.

I, too, heard it was a sold out cruise and to us it certainly felt like it every time we were in the atrium, the Walt Disney Theatre and most certainly on that disasterous disembarkation morning. Kids clubs were a zoo, like you said it was mostly younger children. Parrot Cay was our least favourite restaurant (and we had it twice during our dining rotation), AP was our favourite.

You had mentioned/commented about Clayton previous to our cruise and you were totally right - he's fantastic and a real winner!

Our servers were not high energy, but they were polite and thoughtful and we left every meal feeling satisfied (both by the food and the service).

We really would like to try the Dream or Fantasy, but with airfare so flippin' crazy from the West Coast that might not happen for a while. We'll see how our experience on The Wonder in August compares to what we experienced this past September.
