How many days into the month do you stop saying 'Happy New Year' to people you see for the first time in 2023?

Just curious, as we're now into the second week of the new year and I'm still running into people who are wishing me a happy new year.

Usually only a few days, maybe a week, if it's someone I only see occasionally.

Yeah, only a few days really unless it's the first time that year I've spoken to the person. I usually don't offer it until it is offered to me though.

I guess usually within a week or so after New Year’s Day. I did have someone wish it to me just about an hour ago.

School started back yesterday (the 9th) and many teachers greeted one another with a “Happy new year! How was your holiday?”

Where I work it seems like only a couple days into the new year. Virtually no one takes vacation at the beginning of the year, so most of those you typically interact with you see within the first 2-3 days of the year starting.

When I worked it always drove me crazy that people were saying it well into January. I think after January 2nd is enough.
