I thought I 'd post a few and then take a little nappie~poo....
DS mowed the grass and is now snoozing in front of the tv, and I think I should join him!
So this morning I take DS to storytime, as I usually do on Weds, at our local library.
Recently, the head librarian was able to acquire an old GameCube and several games, including one which I think is called "Starfox Adventures" which features a gun-toting animorphic fox as the hero. After storytime was over, DS wanted to go play in the children's area, where the video game is, so I was like, "Eh.." and let him go.
Two teens were sitting in gaming rockers on the floor, playing "Starfox" and everybody's cool and having a good time. Out of NOWHERE a middle-aged mom pops up and drags her son (proabably about 4 or 5) out of the kid's area. She then takes the time to announce TO THE ENTIRE LIBRARY "We don't watch violent video games! Violent video games rot your brain and make you evil!" at which point she drags her kid out the door. Another mom who was standing there browing the New Releases shelf looked at me and said "What in the world?" . Then we both burst out laughing because the woman's outburst was totally random. Her kid wasn't playing the game, nor was he really interested in it. He was more interested in the shelves of videos than the game.
I know. The way she said it in a very loud voice, like she was announcing it to the entire library, is what made it even funnier. Like the entire library needs to know (or even cares) she doesn't like violent video games.
