Random notes on flying SW and using Uber (in Vegas)

I just got back from a work trip to Vegas. I flew SW and we ended up using Uber a number of times. I took notice of some items that we've discussed on here. I am not saying what happened on this trip is guaranteed all the time, but simply what happened

Boarding Position/Available seats
Since I was travelling by myself, I elected not to do EBCI. My first flight I ended up with B8 and checked in about 1-2 minutes after the T-24. There were a lot of pairs of seats starting about midway back and probably ~6 rows of three empty seats together at the very back. A lot of middle seats available. This was a full flight to Vegas.

I connected through Phoenix on the return. The flight from Vegas to Phoenix was also full and I had B33. There were maybe 4-6 pairs of seats available at this point and only 1-2 rows available. They specifically made an announcement that family boarding would only be for kids and immediate family, no grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

My last flight was only halfway full. I had B2 and grabbed a window seat in about row 3 or 4. A little boy (around 5?) was flying solo. I'm guessing his father dropped him at the plane and his mom got him at our destination. They sat him in the bulkhead in the middle between a couple (I'm assuming the couple was together).

Flight Notification
Before I even left Vegas, I got an email from SW that my connecting flight was delayed 40 minutes. Fortunately, I was at the gate when the plane actually boarded only 5 minutes late. I never got a notification that the flight was now back on time. All the signs at the gate showed the 'delayed' time. I hope no one missed their flight because they thought they had an extra 40 minutes.

Seat Recline
The person directly in front of me never reclined their seat and I never reclined mine. However, others in the row in front of me DID recline theirs. I was able to see (as I had seen on Delta in the past) the top of a reclined seat was maybe reclined 3" (the width of about 3-4 fingers). The bottom of the seat was still in line with the other (unreclined) seats in the row.

Uber
We used cabs the first day and then elected to try Uber. It worked well. However, in Vegas at least, the Uber pickup locations (at hotels) had to be sought out. The hotels apparently don't let Uber pickup at the front entrance. The pickup for the Palazzo for example was in the parking garage on level 2.

Our only real difficulty was when we arranged for a pickup and waited and waited and waited. We called the guy and he said he was stuck in traffic. We continued to wait, wait, and wait and he finally called us and asked how to get to where we were (the designated Uber/Lyft pickup site for the convention center). Of course, we had no idea. We had to cancel that pickup and arrange another one. That took less than 5 minutes to get the ride.

The drivers were all very nice. A couple of them even provided bottled water (nice touch) and one even had free wifi in the car.

I apologize for the novel, but I wanted to give my impression of items that are frequently discussed here.
