When DD9 was DD4, the very first ride she went on, first day in the parks was Space Mountain. SHe was JUST tall enough to ride, and really had no warning at all about what it would be like. She came off that and the other two were pestering her "did you like it" "wasnt' that fun" "that was a great ride". DDthen4 said "I do NOT care to ride that again." which made DH and I crack up. But we told her, "you can ride anything now, you are BIG" which has been a desire of hers since birth, she desperately wants to keep up with the other two.

On an off Disney year, we do other amusement parks, Cedar Point, Kennywood, Hershey Park, Geauga Lake, Waldameer..........vacation for us is amusement parks.

we are heading to Waldameer next weekend & Splash Lagoon in July........
I think we'll skip SM for DS 3(4), not sure about DS6......single seats.....DH thinks it will be ok, I'm a worry wort though!

HS will be rough, hard to get assignments from so many teachers, though middle school is probably similar. My school always excuses the KIDS for vacation, as an educational experience, but they do not feel the same for the staff. We (elementary) will not send work with the kids, though. We stockpile it while they are gone, but won't send any in advance.

DD was in 3rd grade this past trip and her teacher didn't send her anything, I did make her keep a trip journal though. It was DS first year in middle school and he just had to make up the work after. His HR teacher made him read 3 chapters a day of a book they were reading in class. That was tough to get him to do that!

What time is it there, in real time? Still warm, balmy weather?

it's 7:45 right now, 85 degrees!

You can BUY it anytime, it is about $38 for an adult (over the age of nine is adult) and $10 for ages 3-9.

You get one counter service meal (entree, dessert, drink)
one table service meal (at an ADR restaurant, or at a character buffet) which is the meal, dessert and drink
and one snack (like from the many carts)
EACH NIGHT of your stay on property.

When they offer "free" dining, you have to buy at least one one day or more park ticket.

You make your own ADRs for whatever restaurants you want, a few of them cost two table service meal credits, like Cindy's castle or the Hoop De Doo. You can use them however you want, counter service can be a breakfast, you can save all your snacks for the last day and load up on mickey candy if you want.

This year the gratuity is NOT included, so even though the food is free, you have to pay for the tips at all the ADR spots.

It is still one heck of a deal, especially if it is free.
We purchased the plan last year, and ate like royalty all week long....way more food than we ever eat. Last year it included an appetizer, too for each table service meal.

We ate at places we never would have otherwise, and it was nice to try. I doubt we would do it again, though. We were so full all the time, it was downright uncomfortable!

for me.......don't forget to leave the lights on..........probably see you on part deux tomorrow evening,..leaving it in your hands DCT & i:love: dis1.........

I don't suppose you booked your airfare already for the December cruise, DCT? Prices are making me gulp, and we are only coming from PA.

no, we are not going till 2009, but it scares me. I looked at December 2008 and :scared1: . We paid close to $2,000 round trip for the 4 of us when we went in April! And AA didn't charge for luggage yet then. Now some airlines start charging extra for window and aisle seats, have you heard? So basically if you want to sit with your family you have to pay for both by default. I don't think it's fair!

You don't want to freak him out and make him leery to ride anything. DD9 has that "trying to keep up" thing going on all the time, so if her sibs are doing it, she wants to do it, for sure.

We travel a lot with my brothers and their families, and one nephew is afraid to ride anything, it is almost miserable to try to do a park day with them.

so, smiley,
what is it like to have four nearly man sized boys in your house?
Do any of them know how to change the TP roll?

My DS is a sweetie, but DS12 gives me a run for my money, daily.

She loves to hold up two outfits, and ask me which one she should wear. NO matter which one I pick, she gives me a "huff" and chooses the other. I started telling her I am not playing, since I have no fashion sense, apparently. But she whines.........."help me! I don't know which one to pick"

It is enough to make me spike my hot tea in the AM!::yes::

my DD is only 8 and she is doing this whole outfit thing every single day! No matter what I pick, it's not good enough! And god forbit I ask her to wear the same pants two days in a row!!

okay randomites
we travelled together to page 235,

Keep posting the linky if you get near the magic number tonight!

good grief, YES! She can't make a decision to save her life. It is maddening. Today at the store, she wanted gum. She could NOT decide which flavor to get. I almost walked out of the store, she was whining at the register "I just don't know which one to pick, what do you think Mom" I thought "DO WITHOUT THE GUM" Blimey!

I think I have your other DD living with me. Mine is the same way! :rotfl: You can have her for the summer

 DD12 has been doing it for awhile, too
It makes me crazy. I always wonder to myself how she sucks me into an argument every day about what to wear, then she won't wear it anyway!
God help us all as they hit puberty!
