If August is anything like July, I think I'm prepared. Thanks for the warnings. I really hope that the lines will be as short as you've seen them. That will make it easier for me to get out of the parks early and into the WL pool!!

The lines are only that short first thing in the AM. By the time we would leave for lunch, there were hour+ waits, and usually the fastpasses were gone by then.

We liked to get fastpasses galore all morn, and when we would leave, we would give them to a family just coming in. It was a little pixie dust that was nice to do. DD's liked to pick out a family like ours, with three kids and offer up the fastpasses. People were so grateful and amazed, we found!

We always go first thing in the morning. We are early birds all year round, even at Disney. We will also make sure to take advantage of early morning openings.

We had two rooms at POP, and decorated the windows(and doors)

These photos were taken different days, we had been to Epcot for the masks and DD's added them in the first picture. It was hot and humid and the lens fogged up when DD posed for the second pic in front of "her" room.

I like that idea. It's very nice of you. If I can, I think I'll do that this time, too.

Oh how cute!! The last time we were at Disney, we visited POP and saw all the windows decorated and thought it was such a fun idea.:)

I picked up the stuffed animals at garage sales all summer before we went, and then the DD's gave them to little kids at the pool or the food court or the airport as we left to fly home. I didn't pay more than 50cents for any of them, and several still had tags on them! More pixie dust to share! My DD's loved making someone's day, and since I had just bought these for the trip, they werent' really attached to them, wanting to keep them!

storms rolling in now........thunder and winds so far.......no drops yet......
we rarely lose power, though, underground wiring (who knew this small town was so progressive!)
:confused3

ooohhh, good idea!
You can't see it in the picture, but we had a string of lights in each window, too. I took a christmas white string and added LGMH to the bulbs. I took a timer, too, and set the lights to come on about 9PM, so when we came back to the room, they were on and welcoming us (plus, it helped us find our room REALLY easily). We did a fridge swap, and left the lights with the next person on the swap. Partypooper DH didn't want to bring them home.

I love the lessons that you are passing on to your kids. So rare!

Great idea!! Now I will be thinking of putting lights up too!! No idea what DH thinks of all of this, he just pacifies me...lol

It is rare!! Awesome job teaching your kids these things!

Thank you. We do try......... A large portion of teaching today is mothering, I find. You never get to take time off of being a role model. I am lucky that DH is on the same page as I am........or willing to go with my quirky ideas sometimes (like giving away fastpasses). The first day, he was like (raised eyebrow) you want to give these passes to someone? Do you think anyone will take them??? Then he saw the amazed, excited reaction from the family we gave them too, and he started saying, "let's get fastpass for ...... so we can give them to someone when we leave for our break". The Dkids really liked spreading the joy, too!
