someone is eating a late lunch in here...and whatever they are eating smells like feet.

seriously

*LOL* yummy!

A long time ago, our dept sat next to the kitchen. 1 of the women was PG. Every day, around 9am, she heated up fried catfish in the microwave. Do you know how awful that smelled? It stayed all day..... We couldn't even open any windows as they were glued shut...

:crazy2: As much as I appriciate my company having kitchens with microwaves I almost wish we didn't. The things some people heat in it are revolting. There really s/b a law against heating fish in a shared microwave.

stinky sour feet!
:)

There is always one in every office that each fish EVERY DAY, eh?

I think the most stinky thing I bring to work is carribbean jerk chicken...it's not a nasty smell, but it's a spicey smell.

I swear...I walk into my own home and I know that DH has eaten tuna...I HATE the smell of tuna...it makes me gag uncontrollably. When I worked at a cafe on my college campus, whenever anyway ordered a tuna melt I always told them we were out of tuna (except when DH called...well, he wasn't BF or DH back then...but I only made the tuna for him.) Now I won't go near that nasty stuff!

Stinkerbelle,
I too hate the smell of tunafish!! My husband loves to eat tuna, but I won't let him while I am home...and he'd better handwash the bowl he makes the tuna salad in, take out the garbage, and brush his teeth before I walk in the door...or I will be obligated to decorate his shoes!

I'm glad to hear I am not alone in this!!

Are you sure someone is eating lunch? Maybe they just took off their shoes... ;)

Try working in an office of Indians. My last job, a lot of my workmates were Indian and while I really like Indian food, it is probably one of the worst smelling stuff out there.

I do and I know what you mean. We have many Indians in my office. Those that I know are wonderful people and some of my closest work friends but curry in a microwave is just wrong.

"or I will be obligated to decorate his shoes!"

LOL.

Thanks for the laugh..

It's about 70/30 here
70% indian 30% american (we've downsized alot...most of these people are consultants)

I do believe it was some indian food...thank god the air has finally cleared.

We have a bunch of people here who can't manage a toaster. We're talking flaming black bread every morning and the stench hangs around forever. yuck!

I agree with Bob and the others about curry. I've worked for an Asian Indian boss, and he outlawed microwave popcorn. He said it stunk up the two floors of the workplace. Then he goes and microwaves curry for lunch.:crazy2: To top it off, I worked next to the microwave. Had to put another pot on the coffee just to mask the smell. Aggghhh!

Stinkerbelle, it's time for revenge. lol. And don't clean the microwave afterwords either.

bread flambe Is that a SW tradition???

In the Midwest , our lunch area features.. lots of reheated curry - and pasta/garlic stuff..

That smell could be just about as bad as my coworker heating up hotdogs in the microwave today. Ewwww. I did tell him that I hoped my tacos didn't smell like hotdogs!

At the place I use to work at, the owner banned parmesean cheese and clam chowder in the microwave. The cheese he said smelled like baby puke and the chowder was something a couple of teenagers who worked there brought everyday, some sort of canned kind, not the New England kind from a restaurant.:crazy2:

I had to laugh at this thread. When I work I don't really have issues since the food is far away. However, I'm home this summer with the kids. My DH bought some frozen "taquitos" and I really like them. Every time I try cooking one the kids come running from the other side of the house "Mom, something's wrong with the septic tank!" (They are familiar with that smell from our neighbors - another story)
