Random Act of Kindness...From the DIS

Last year I carried "glow necklaces" in my backpack. They are cheap (dollar store) and easy to carry!!!! They also help keep little ones quiet while waiting for spectro, fantasmic, etc. I felt good handing these to nearby families that we met!!! Renessa

My tummy isn't happy on many of the rides but most everyone else in my group can ride. So when we get our Fast Passes, I always get one for myself, even though I don't plan to use it.

While everyone else rides, I look for a person obviously traveling alone, and give them a FP which has no wait time whatsoever !!

I love these ideas!

one of my favorites is giving the stroller to someone coming in when i'm leaving. i can't wait to do that when we go in 4 weeks..

keep them coming

I am always asking people trying to take family pictures if I can take it for them. I also offer to take one with my digital camera and e-mail it to them so they can put it on a desk top also. Another one is my wife and I always get the fast pass to TT orToT or other rides and give them to people (usually a young couple) that we see just before we leave. We had no intention of riding we like to give. When we were in Hawaii last year we saw ,at different times ,honeymooning couples that I knew would love a picture to be taken with all the beautiful scenery and them. I would then offer to send the picture back to their parents via e-mail. They always are appreciative. Good thread, keep them coming.

My husband and I love to take others pictures, and notice so many others will offer to do the same for us. I will check this thread for more great ideas!

There's a dollar store near me, I might just pick up a few things to throw in my back pack for some unsuspecting children in line near us.

My partner and I do the "official photographer to Walt Disney World" thing too! And we always, always, always hold doors open as well as give up our seats to frazzled parents, elderly folks and pregnant women. We're both 36 year old men in good shape, we can stand for another 20 minutes.

We also visit our local Disney Store prior to our trips and pick up as many (exclusive to NYC stores only) Mickey NYPD and FDNY pins as we can afford. Sadly, I just learned that they stopped making these little treasures but we did manage to get about 20 of them for our October trip! When in the parks, we like to give them out to other guests and castmembers. We've probably collectively given out about 60 of them to date in our most recent vacations!

When someone actually tried to give us one of their own pins as a trade, we always tell them it's not neccessary. We also explain that the whole world sent NYC so many prayers and warm thoughts in the months after 9/11, this was our small way of saying thanks in return. It sounds corny but we really want to give back, even in such a small way.

Here's one from my 9y/o DD..."memorize a few good jokes or riddles and share them with kids near you while standing in long lines. It makes the waiting more fun and you have instant new friends."

I was so proud of my 10 and 11 yo daughters when on a packed Disney bus they offered to give up their seats for a couple of 3 or 4 year old kids who looked very tired. It was very late and I know they were exhausted so giving up those seats was a very big sacrifice for them.

Of course, if they had to give up the seat for one another, that would be a different story!

Great thread

On several occasions I have given up my seat on the bus for an older person or someone with smaller children than our own. Another nice thing to do is save your seat at a restaurant like Pecos Bills for the bedrazzled looking folks. Usually people are very thankful for this. Letting the small ones in up front to see the fireworks or parades is another RAK. We have been on the recieving end in yrs past of all 3 of these scenarios and it does make a difference.
Holding the door for others, sometimes you will even get a thank you for this one. And give plenty of smiles, these can go so far in a persons day.
