Dresses

I bought my dress a few weeks ago at Davids Bridal, I love it! it was on super sale and came in tons under my $1000 budget- it was only $349! originally $599, which is still under my budget :):)
my all time biggest reason for the selection is that it converts to a cute sheath for the dessert party OR of I'm super hot during the reception.

So now that I've told you how i love the dress, how cheap it was, etc etc
I'm not sure that I can keep it!
No buyers remorse here- I have a very young aunt, shes only 2 years older than me and she just got married this past new years eve... Her dress was SO similar that its easily confused. and i didnt think about it AT ALL, EVER. then like a ton of bricks, it hit me. and I'm not sure that I can wear someone elses dress. hers didnt convert- she used a white sash- i'm using a red broach... but i just cant get it out of my mind. so next week i'm going to see if i can find anything else that i love as much... xx fingers crossed xx

what do you all think, am i being crazy? my mother thinks i am- but my sisters totally see my point.

Love the dress, it's so pretty and a great deal! Honestly if you love the dress and it's THE ONE. Keep it, even if it's similar to someone elses doesn't really matter.

The only thing that matters is you love the dress, and it's perfect for you.

joining in! I agree with Amanda, if you love the dress, don't worry about it being similar to someone else's. It looks really cute and awesome that it converts! Especially in July. I got married in May and it was over 100 degrees! :goodvibes
Your kiddos are so cute, as was your proposal. Looking forward to more plans! popcorn::

Thanks, i think i'll end up keeping it- esp. if she decides she cant make the trip for the wedding :rolleyes1 but until she decides i guess im keeping my eyes open- maybe ill find another one i love just as much

We're spending our Saturday being lazy playing trains and watching the Olympics, and every once in awhile I'll pick up my wedding binder and start listening to songs for our ceremony picking our (mostly my, because Alfredo was really into the brazil soccer game) fav's.
That being said... I'm still on the fence as to what type of musician we'll be going with. I would prefer a acoustic guitar, but Alfredo isnt sure it will 'fill the space' the way a string trio might. I'm more concerned with keeping up the more casual feel I envision for the day. Theres only 20 people who need to hear the music so its not like everyone will be so spread out that they'll be straining to hear it.
I have spoken with Michelle about not needing music for our entire reception- we only want 1st dances... and I really dont want those dances done to any string arrangements. She agreed that we dont need backround music for our casual brunch buffett reception, and said that only 1st dances is completely do-able.
So ladies, how do I convince Alfredo tht just the guitarist will be loud enough at SBP?
And, any song suggestions? Something that may not be on the 'popular wedding song' lists?

ugh, my huge long update just got lost....
crying about it
and reposting tomorrow....

ok! trying again...
i've been really busy lately with wedding stuff, family garbage, and my kiddos... so ive been super slacking this PJ- sorry!

i've been trying to find someone to do our personal floral, getting some quotes and trying to find photos to send out for inspiration, my biggest fear is ordering- and then the florist not having the same 'vision' and having to go back and forth changing things. i've decided to do real touch silks because i'm wary of real flowers lasting all the way to my DP (which is another issue all together). and my kiddies are super rough with flowers (my son was ringbearer last weekend and his bout was in pieces 1/2 waay through the ceremony) with silks at least i can hot glue them back together in a pinch. these are the pics in sending out

bmaid boq inspiration, but i'm hoping for brighter yellows, not so pastel
So far the quotes are around $400ish from 3 vendors, for three boquets, 3 corsages, 9 bouts, and a kissing ball for the lil princess. if anyone has used a super wonderful vendor please share their info- i dont mind a larger expence as long as i know i'm getting a quality product.

i've picked up shirts for my sisters the princess and i to wear for getting ready in the morning, i'll have the monogram done in the future- i just have to find someone local to do it. i got the shirts on clearance (7.99 for ours @ macys & i had a 15% off coupon! the baby will just wear one of her brothers outgrown ones) in the end they'll look like this
Monogram_shirt.jpg

maybe i'll start to look for little shorts to wear underneath with some fun knee socks, all for fun photo purposes of course.

i also got them mickey tumblers at the DS, i'm starting to pick out little odds and ends for their gifts- so far these are the only things i've actually bought

i've also started picking up things for the welcome bags. i got some red and yellow gift bags on clearance at target just in case i dont find a tote that i love that DF will agree in worth the $ (this is becoming an issue, he seems to think no one will ever use a disney inspired tote again). to fill them i've gotten
*hand sanitizer with the little plastic holder ($1ea at $5 below)
*shout wipes ($14 for 25 on ebay)
*tissues ($1ea at ACMoore)
*disney goggles and pool rafts for kids ($1ea / $16 total at the dollar store)
*white bibs and iron on personalization paper for the babies to have "i <3 the bride and groom bibs" (bibs $12 for 10 at babies r us paper $3 at michaels)
*mickey sippy cup for the baby ($5ea at the DS)
*pad with attached pen ($1ea at staples, they were supposed to be $2 but they were mismarked so i got thehm for 1/2 off!)
*off bug wipes ($3 for 15 wipes at $5 below)
*disney board books for the baby ($2 for 2 at michaels)
and i think thats it so far for those, i still have stuff to get but i try to do i welcome bag purchase a week so DF doesnt really see the expence adding up.

my sisters ordered their dresses! the ordered 'the ONE dress' off Etsy. it will be good for them because they both have different styles and this way even though its the same dress they can wear it differently.
BMdress.jpg

theirs are a brick color- more red, less orangey than these. although these ladies are just lovely, my sisters are thin little waifs (luckies) so they prob wont be wearing the straps the way these ladies are. later this winter i'll order the princess her 'ONE dress' in yellow, with a red pettiskirt underneath- i just have to wait to be more sure of her size.

i just ordered chair signs on Etsy yesterday- now i have to patiently wait 3-4 weeks for them to come :sad2: theyre kind of like these, in red and black instead of the cream. but our say "senhor" and "senhora" portuguese for Mr. and Mrs. and the back says "thank you" and "obrigado"-more portuguese- to use for pictures. DF doesnt know about the portuguese touches i'm trying to add in, and i hope he likes the surprise. most of his family still lives in Brazil and wont be able to obtain visa's to come to the wedding.... so as happy as we are to be getting married i think hes kind of down that his family will be missing it.

i booked our family-moon, 12 nights at PORiverside. we'll check in two nights before the wedding, then the monday after the wedding the trip will turn into the princess' 3rd bday extravaganza. we always spend 3rd bdays in disney, its the last time they'll be free at WDW so we try to take advantage of that one last time. i also booked a garden suite for the night before the wedding for my princess and i then we'll keep the room for our free night for DF and i's wedding night. the kids will have someone stay with them in our POR room and we'll go back to being our happy little family after a child free Friday.

i think thats all ive been doing lately, lots of back and forth with my planner michelle, who seems to want to put off 90% of my questions until our planning session.... i guess she wants to spend her whole day with me.

I know this is a few posts old, but I wouldn't worry about your dress being similar to your aunt's. Your weddings are far apart and, though this may be blasphamous on a wedding board, I can't remember what a single bride's dress looked like at any of their weddings.

Regarding your more recent updates, YAY! for Disneymooning and wedding plans. Everything looks great.
