Our favorite spot to eat is Rancho del Zocalo. Great food, no reservations needed, love eating by Big Thunder, and we love the general atmosphere. Had a bit of a panic attack when I heard that it's mobile order only now. Went to the app to see how easy it would be to customize our orders, everything looks fine. Until I could not find an option to order chips in the app. When we go to Disneyland I NEED MY CRISPY CHIPS con LIMON! Weird obsession, I know. We always buy an extra bag and snack on them in the park. They are nowhere in the mobile order option. Shows in the menu, but no way to order them now. I will be spending the day on the phone/emailing trying to find out who to contact to get this corrected! My annual trip is soon, not the same without the chips. it's the birthplace of Doritos for crying out loud, must pay homage by consuming massive quantity of tortilla chips on every trip!

Just went to the help section on the app. Clicked "send feedback" then "food and dining" then "mobile order feedback". You can leave a comment there. Please join me in my crusade to get the chips on the menu :) I am sure it will be corrected if others file feedback...

The good news is it’s not mobile order only. You can still walk up to the counter and order.

Regarding the chips, I looked yesterday and they were there on the actual mobile order selection menu. But, looking now, they aren’t there. Strange. (The reason I looked is because I had that same fear, that they wouldn’t actually be on the mobile order menu since they are a grab-n-go item).

Since I am positive they were on there before, I hope it’s just a temporary glitch. It would be very annoying to not be able to order the chips through mobile order.

I didn't realize that they went to mobile order- I liked that it hadn't moved that way yet. I just sent them a message about the chips, thanks VINCENT for the steps to do so!

This is common for LOTS of mobile order menus. They don't always list everything the restaurant has. Jolly Holiday is the worst offender.

They will probably show up eventually.

I think there's actually some glitch where the items disappear and reappear when they're not supposed to. I sometimes don't see an item on a mobile order menu only to see it there later that trip. Or vice versa.

Here is the response from Disney:

Thank you for contacting the Digital Guest Experience team.

That WOULD be a tragedy! I've passed your feedback on to the restaurant team, so they know our Guests are asking for it!

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. Have a magical day!

Is there any other restaurant that currently operates with both a buffeteria and an indoor mobile order pick up?

Maybe I'm an overly cynical person, but I'm curious how this works now if the mobile order pick up is inside at those middle counters and the soda machines are still self-serve -- when a person is exiting the building, how do the cashiers know that they already paid and are just taking out their mobile order versus just carrying out food they haven't paid for? Does the cashier check their mobile order receipt when they're leaving?

They probably pack up the mobile order in disposable boxes. That would be my guess.

Was at the parks yesterday and can also confirm that they most definitely have the chips at RdZ in the restaurant and I do see them in the app.

We did not use mobile order there because the return time was over an hour away (though the mobile order counters were totally dead so IDK why) so we just did walk up for which there was a bit of a line. I wasn’t watching super closely how they handled the mobile order counter and exit though I’m actually not sure I even saw anyone do a mobile order pickup while we were in line. The exits for that restaurant are pretty constricted anyway and there were lots of CMs standing around by one of them (the one to the left of the soda machines/towards the entrance) so perhaps they direct MO guests to that side to exit? I did not see anyone in the dining area eating RdZ food from disposable boxes.

As for similar style locations/buffeterias that offer both, Alien Pizza Planet does come to mind. We did not eat there yesterday but last year they still had MO go by the registers after food pick up to “make sure you got everything” and I think they gave you the fountain drink cups there too even for MO. Maybe someone who has been there more recently can confirm. Obviously flow would be a little different there anyway though with the soda fountains being past the registers.

My kids get Alien Pizza Planet almost every visit. Mobile order pickups just get the food and then exit through the register area without stopping. Your cups are handed to you with your food.

When you stand in line for Pizza Planet, you have to FIRST go to the register and order and pay, and then they hand you your receipt and direct you to a specific window to pick up. I learned this once when my son wanted the Alien Macaroon and it (surprise!) didn't show up on the mobile order menu. So, everyone there who is walking out with food has already paid.

The only other place I can think of is French Market. They have had mobile order for awhile but also still have the walk up buffeteria style set up. I don't really ever eat there, though, so not sure the specifics on how it works.
