I'll be camping out at Fort Wilderness at the end of August. I use an ECV / wheelchair to get around due to damage in my legs caused by diabetes. (What's left of 'em. I used to scare the kids with stories of gator attacks. :lmao:
I will throttle back this time due to number of REAL gator attacks lately.)

Anyways, I've heard that the marina used to have problems with loading during certain water levels being too high / low. Does anyone know if this is still an issue? I may be able to stand long enough to lift the ECV into the boat if the problem isn't too severe. Advice?

I have not stayed at FW, but we did stay at WL one year when the water level was low.
The boat CMs are used to this and do have ways to deal with it. One way is to load the wheelchair or ECV users first if they need the boat floating as high as possible. Another is to use the people on the boat to act as "ballast". They can have the people all go on one side of the boat to make that side lower in the water. They have lots of "tricks" so, although it's something to be aware of, it probably will be more interesting than inconvenient. If worse comes to worse, they will come up with other ways to get around, like buses.

I was also concerned about the water level at Fort Wilderness for our arrival dinner at the Hoop-De-Doo Review on 4/29. Had no problems loading or unloading at either the MK dock or the Fort Wilderness dock, however I did wind up with a flat tire and had to call Care Medical to get a replacement.

I have been at Ft Wilderness at times when loading an ECV or Power wheelchair was impossible. In that case you need to take the bus. It really depends on how low the water levels are. Usually they will place a sign indicating that water levels are too low and you may not be able to get on. They really try but sometimes it is not possible.

We have stayed a FW for many years and have never had a problem, but I haven't been there the last few months and with FL being in such a drought Bay lake might be very low. They would definetly post signs if it was a problem. I will say at the marina they really try to make things work.
