Erica and I are just about ready to drive home form our adventures at the Flying Pig Weekend in Cincinnati. While we were having dinner with some of the Wish team we got into a discussion of how fun it is to get together and what other activities we could arrange for the ToT weekend and the January races.

For the ToT so far we have the dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern and the Mickey's not so scarry party on the 26th, the race and get together after for relaxing and a drink before bed. Most of us are going for a several days so does anyone have any more ideas for activities? Erica and I don't have nearly the Disney experience that a lot of you do.

Please share your ideas. Even if there is a restraunt you would like to try and would like some company put it out there.

By the way, we Piggys took Wish national this weekend, The wild and florecent yellow clad warriors were well represented.

Pre-race lunch on Sat?

I'm pretty open. How 'bout POR or POFQ?

I am up for anything. If all goes well (a.k.a. Chad gets a job), we will be in WDW for the week leading up to the ToT race.

We will have a 4-year-old in tow though & I know most of you are kid-less! Or at least little-kid-less.

We will probably have to hire a Fairy Godmother to watch Zack the night of the race - better start saving for that now! We were going to use one of the kids clubs for him, but they close at midnight.
We want to stay at the ToT party!

Darlin if they will let you, bring that child along for the race. I thought I heard something about an age limit but not sure. If you can bring him there will be enough strong shoulders for Zack to ride on if he gets tired.

Of course Zack will be welcome for anything we do, we are kidless now because ours are grown but that don't mean we wouldn't enjoy having him around.

Dave - I am going for the 'mommy & daddy night out' thing for the race! ;)

Besides, Zack bailed on the January kids race - Chad had to carry him under great duress - never again! :rotfl:

Ok I understand, but please don't ever let lack of a sitter keep you from a WISH gathering.

Mini Golf?

Drinking/Eating/Desserting around the world?

Ohana's? (Can you imagine??? :lmao: )

Pool Party? (will it be warm enough?)

Okay.. those are my ideas so far...

I'll keep imagining ;)

Kathy

Bet your sorry I'm back now!! ;)

Howard and I have to go home Sunday late afternoon or early evening, but we are spending Sunday at the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT. If anyone is going to be there and wants to do a meal together, that would be fun!

We are staying at POR and have a reservation at Boatwright's for breakfast Saturday morning at 10:20. Anyone interested in dining there? We plan on going from there to MGM.

I guess it would be smart to eat something a while pre-race but I am not up to speed on where at MGM would be good. Any ideas?

Hi, Cam! We've eaten at: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, 50's Prime Time, Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, and Toy-Story Pizza Planet. We were amazed at the selections on the buffet at Hollywood and Vine when we ate there in December. 50's Prime Time is a riot, for sure. Hope this helps! :goodvibes Anne
Here's what WDW says:

Signature Dining
The Hollywood Brown Derby
Hobnob like a star at this version of the world-famous Hollywood Brown Derby and dine on its classic offerings.

Special and Unique Dining
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
Make the scene by parking yourself in front of some tasty sandwiches and shakes in this unique indoor drive-in movie theater that also offers "a galaxy of entrees".

Themed Dining
50's Prime Time Café
It's Prime Time all day when you turn back to the Fifties and become one of the family members in Mom's kitchenette.

Casual Dining

Dine in this neighborhood Italian restaurant where Mediterranean delights are plentiful.

Quick Service Restaurant

Eat in a movie-studio prop shop like a member of the art department. Your artistic and sensory palates will be pleased by an assortment of burgers, hot dogs, salads, chicken strips, sandwiches and more!

Starring Rolls Cafe
Taste Hollywood's sweet excess in these scrumptious fresh-baked goods, pastries, and sandwiches - along with freshly roasted coffee, delicious cappuccino, and espresso.

Studios Catering Co. Flatbread Grill
Enjoy an eclectic menu featuring fast and flavorful fare like grilled chicken served with rice and beans, and pulled pork sandwiches.

Sunset Ranch Market
Catch a breath of fresh air as you dine off Sunset Boulevard in the famed Sunset Ranch Market. Rosies Servin' up hamburgers, hot dogs, smoked turkey legs, veggie burgers, pizza, hand-dipped ice cream and fresh fruit.

Toy Story Pizza Planet
Play to your heart's content in this fun-filled arcade inspired by the Disney/Pixar animated movie "Toy Story." Munch on pizza, salad and drinks, but watch out for Little Green Men!

I think I have eaten everywhere at MGM besides the Brown Derby. Prime Time is always alot of fun.

The race is not till 9 PM so we could eat around 5:30 or 6:00 The Twilight zone theater sounds like fun and would fit the theme of the evenings events.

Dave:hippie:

According to Disney's site, the race has been moved back to 9:30 pm:confused3

Not a problem we have plenty of time to socialize and then refreshments walting back at the hotel for a night cap after the party closes. But even more reason to start the party even eariler.

I will have a 2.5 year old in tow! :) I'm leaving him with his grandfather, though, during the race. I figure they can ride the Great Movie Ride over and over while they wait.

I'm up for some stuff. I think we're going to try to go to the Tuesday Halloween party and might go to the coast for a day or so in between. We're still waiting to hear about my husband's deployment schedule to make firm plans.
