Hey everyone!! Just need some quick advice now that I have the funds to prepay my hotel. So my kids and I are heading to disneyland for a week in September and through last minute travel I can get the best western for $600 for the week and with the Ramada's fall special I can get a 2 queen room for $800. By looking at tripadvisor it looks like the best western is the better hotel even though it is farther away and I am just wondering if it is worth it to pay the extra money to stay at the ramada. Any thoughts?

Just wanted to clarify that I am speaking about the ramada maingate across the street.

I haven't stayed at BW Stovall's but I have stayed at Ramada Inn Maingate and that would DEFINITELY be my choice. The location is far, far superior (vs. the other which is just, well, far, far lol!)

Also something to consider, when we salled that Ramada to book a room for next month, they said they are opening one (maybe two?) brand new buildings. So you could be getting a fairly new room so you won't have to worry about anything being outdated or anything.

Don't know about BWS's pool but Ramada maingate's is one of the better ones for kids among the nearby motels (doesn't compare to HoJo or on-sites obviously)

Best Western is actually a little closer to the entrance. I know people here like Ramada, but I stayed there two weeks ago and I was not a fan. I didn't get a fancy room (just the regular 2 queen bed room), and the room was extremely stuffy. The fan was really loud (so loud that you have to turn it off at night and deal with the stuffiness) and the bed and pillows weren't good.
I never stayed at Best Western though so I can't tell you much about it. My favorite hotel on a budget is still the Marriot (Fairfield Inn).

Ramada does have a good pool though, and they offer free continental breakfast (though it isn't anything special).

OP is comparing to the Best Western Stovall's on Katella, not Best Western Park Place Inn which *is* a bit closer than Ramada Inn Maingate.

Having stayed at BW Storvalls twice and considering the Ramada for this trip I can tell you the BW seems like it is a far walk but really its not bad. We did it with a 4 and 2 year old and you get to cut through the Grand Californian and DTD to get to the park which is nice.
The pools at BW are great- there is a big one that is usually quite cold, an average sized one which is nice, and a wading pool for little ones (very shallow, round, basic). I am a creature of habit and seriously considereing rebooking back here even though for the week we are looking at its actually a bit more.

Having never stayed at the Ramada I can't really say much BUT having stayed at the BW I can tel you it is great. It's quiet, friendly staff, and really not a bad walk. Even when your feet are killing you after day 4 and you leave the park exhausted its okay :thumbsup2
