We're planning a trip for Dec 10-12 and are looking for a easy walk to DLR, breakfast, updated rooms and comfy beds.

We've narrowed it down to BWPPI and Ramada Main Gate.

Which would you choose and why?

TIA!

I chose the Ramada maingate for our hotel stay in less then 2 weeks.
They have just completed a renovation adding a whole new building & new breakfast area as well.
We booked into one of the new rooms in the new building.

Do you have BWPPI booked? It looks like they are sold out for your dates.
The RMG looks like they might have a room to book.

This link (from 2011) has info on distances. It also has other links (WikiMapia) to determine distances

Good luck finalizing your plans

Yes, we are already booked at BWPPI -- but, we had to call them directly because our dates weren't showing as available online. Thanks for the link to the distances -- I was going to search for it next!

I'm glad you have things booked. It would be difficult to find what you're looking for this close to the date.
I love the WikiMapia map features. Point to point with the distance tally on the side is really nice.

I have stayed at DI&S and Tropicana, being right at the cross walk is nice. Greatly appreciated at the very end of a long day.
It's also nice to be so close to run back for a jacket in the evening instead of packing things around all day.

Walking distance.... I have made it from TOT in DCA to our room at the DI&S in about 15 minutes.

They are both across the street. BWPPI is literally right across the street from the entrance
Ramada Maingate is only 1/2 block down the street, so both are very close.

There is still lots of construction going on at the Ramada, but I bet the end results will be nice. I almost booked there for the pretty pool, but construction seemed like a pain to walk around twice a day, so we switched to the Tropicana.

BWPPI was ok, the location was definitely it's best quality!

We have stayed at both in recent years. Both are nice clean modern hotels with great service good free breakfasts.
We like the breakfast a little better at BWPPI because of a little better variety and lots of room to sit at tables. At the Ramada, you have to eat in the pool area which has about 2 or 3 tables. Not a deal breaker but a little better IMO.
Walking distance wise, the Ramada will be about 3 minutes further away. Keep in mind that BWPPI is a 5 minute walk for the turn styles so there's not much of a difference there.
Both hotels are very nice!

We have had BWPPI booked since April for our December 11-15 visit. I love that place, free breakfast and right across the street = time and money saved.....for Disney!!

I've stayed at both. It seems like Ramada's prices have risen since the renovations began. Depending on the dates, a 2-queen room can be the same price as a 2-queen suite (which includes a sofa bed) at BWPPI. I have been hesitant to stay at the Ramada during the constructions because I've read that it is causing noise and parking issues. We loved our stay at BWPPI last month. The room was huge. The walk to the parks was so short. It's my new favorite place to stay.
