Has anyone ever stayed here before? I was reasearching hotels and just found this one. It looks nice, great pool area, free breakfast included. I was wondering how the rooms/stay was. We are going next summer and was thinking the HOJO's because the kids pool area and the rooms look nice sized, except no free breakfast and that comes in really handy when feeding 5 people. This one looks nice also. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or comments on this at all.

I literally just checked out this morning from an overnight stay. Free parking was nice. The room was basic but fine. There was a microwave and a mini-fridge. The A/C is a wall unit (not central) and therefore I had to have it on the highest (loudest) setting to keep the room cool, but I was dead tired from being in the parks last night after fireworks so I fell asleep no problem :) The bathroom was clean. There was some paint chipping on the door and small stains on the carpeting in the room, but stuff like that doesn't bother me when I'm not paying for a high-quality place. When I book a hotel like this, it is for location (which is great, by the way). When I go to Hawaii or Vegas, I book nicer places, but when I'm hardly going to be in the room, I don't mind small things like that. It was certainly not seedy or a dump by any means.

The free breakfast was VERY basic, but a nice option since I didn't want to waste time sitting down and eating a full breakfast. They had a toaster with white and wheat toast, three basic cereal choices, pastries, oranges and apples, and coffee and juices. I just had some toast and an apple and it was enough to last me until my early lunch at 11.

No complaints. The pool looked fine but we didn't use it (that's where they serve the breakfast). If you get a good rate and know it's not a five-star hotel, I say go for it. My rate was $109, $127 after taxes for a 2 queen room. I liked that parking was free and the rate was the lowest compared to the other six or seven comparable hotels in that row (Tropicana, Camelot, Best Western Park Place, Park Vue, etc.) for the date I needed.

Good info! We are staying there in Sept. when we go to DL, I would be happy to throw in my two cents on the place upon our return.

We have stayed there twice. My son, who is 10- LOVES THE POOL! it is a saline pool, so no chlorine smell, and he feels like he can swim with out being right next t me all the time. They have redone a bunch of the rooms over the past couple of years, and our stay both times was no problem. Basic rooms that are clean and functional, and very close otthe main gates! And cheap, lol.

it is good to see a couple more positive reviews. we check in tomorrow and we have never stayed there before.

We stayed there last summer for a long stay...and I really like this hotel.

We stayed in the premium rooms and found them to be very comfortable.

Free parking is awesome! The breakfast is very basic, but it can at least get you started. The pool is super big (relatively speaking vs most Harbor hotels).

The walk is super easy too.

If you are on Facebook, become a friend of the hotel. They have specials on their Facebook page and post deals all the time.

I think they have wonderful customer service too. :thumbsup2

All good info to know. Thanks for the review. Basic breakfast is good to start the day out with so anything free is good! As for the AC unit, we have one in our bedroom window, we also have central, but the noise from the AC actually helps me sleep so that would not be a problem. The pool area looks very nice and tropical, lol.

Does anyone know the room sizes and comfortability compared to the HOJO or If there are any discounts for AP holders (I might buy ap's again next year)?

Glad to hear that many people have positive reviews. This Ramada is at the top of our list for our visit.
A few months ago there was a thread about construction there. I know the pool was redone, but wasn't there plans to redo the front building etc? Anyone know when that might be happening?

I'll add my $0.02 as well. We stayed in one of the mini-suites last spring..wait, no...last last spring - 2010. The price & location were great. The pool was awesome, although the kids were only in it once. The shallow end was really shallow and great for young 'uns.

The mini-suite was pretty dark and tired looking but very clean so we overlooked the rest. I know they were going through a refurbishment schedule so hopefully they've redone the suites by now. We really wanted to have that extra space so that the kids could have one room & we the other. Once we were there we realized we would have been fine with just a single room as the grown ups were so tired after being in DL all day that we all went to bed at the same time! Ah well, live and learn.

I do remember wishing the shower head was up higher as it was a pain in the neck to get my hair washed - literally! :lmao: But that wouldn't discourage me from going back.

The breakfasts weren't anything deluxe but we never needed to snack in the mornings so it served its purpose to hold us till lunchtime. After 5 days I was getting a bit sick of the danishes though....:rotfl:

We're heading back in the fall but staying at the Park Place Inn this time, primarily because DH has mobility issues at the moment so even as close as the Ramada is, we decided even closer would be better.
