Rally for America

Glenn Beck, a syndicated radio talk show host from Philadelphia, is trying to put together a Rally for America in West Virginia on Memorial Day weekend.

He is doing an interesting thing. He is funding it from the people of this country. He only wants 1 dollar a person.
He needs to raise $250,000 in 10 days from now or he can't do it.

So basically he needs 250,000 people to send the USO, 1 dollar for the rally.

I can't make it to WV that weekend, but I sent 1 dollar for each member of my family this afternoon. He is going to Donate the money to USO if he doesn't get enough, or any extra if he gets too much.

Same for me. I mailed in four dollars for my household today. The object is to have it fully funded by regular people, one dollar at a time, so that each dollar represents a person who is in support of the troops.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I printed out the Rally for America homepage to send in a care package to "my" soldier. This way they can see that over 100,000 people in 15 different locations came out to support them.

Sure wish they accepted checking draft or something besides a check for such a low amount.

They would be OK with the cash in an envelope too, I'm sure if it's just a small amount.

If you're interested in sending a dollar, they need it by the end of the week. If they can't raise the $250,000 they won't hold the rally. 100% of the money raised would go directly to the USO. And he did say it was fine to send a dollar in an envelope, it doesn't need to be a check.
