Raleigh NC Apartments

I need some insight on good areas for a 22 year old single female. She is looking to move to Raleigh NC and needs an apartment. One cat and a 5lb(?) dog will be along for the ride. Job will be on Glenwood Avenue near Crabtree mall. Needs a place that's within 20-30 minutes during rush hour.

Price range is up to $1000

There are a ton of apartments right on or near Glenwood in that area. Just google Raleigh Glenwood apartments. There is one complex right near Glenwood and Crabtree that has just put in a new pool. $1000 will probably get her a decent one bedroom, for bigger size she will need to go a little north on Glenwood or to a suburb. There is a nice apartment complex called Alta Vista in Knightdale that is right off 540. My husband commutes from Knightdale to downtown Glenwood and it takes him about 20 minutes. Knightdale is quieter than Raleigh but has a target, kohls, tj maxx, restaurants, etc.
