Literally!!

I am 28 years old and have been tweezing my eyebrows since I was 15, well, to be quite honest, I have plucked the heck out of them over the years :sad2:and they are really really thin, I am sure some of you out there might have had this problem as well, I would really like to get them back to normal looking, they aren't that bad I guess but I would really like them to be thicker and be able to get them shaped better or at least differently. Does anyone out there have any thoughts or advice on what I can do to remedy my situation?? I wonder how long it would take them to grow out and if they would grow back?!?:snail: :snail:

Thanks in Advance
Kim

I use a really light brown eyeshadow and an eyeliner brush to fill in my eyebrows when I overpluck them. Just make sure not to put on too much and I wipe a finger over each eyebrow after I "fill" them in to get off any excess powder. The eyeshadow looks so much better and more "real" than filling them in with a pencil.

I think if you pluck enough that eventually the hair won't grow back. My mom no longer plucks her eyebrows as her's will not grow back.

Well, you see I am definitely not a pro when it comes to the application of makeup and honestly when I do wear makeup it is really not that much....I appreciate your suggestion, and I just might try it but I am really looking for a more permanent solution if it is at all possible.
Thanks
Kim

 Hi Minifan,

I can totally relate to this problem you have as when I was younger my Mum took me for my eyebrows shaped and I came our with practically none left and the worse part was they never grew back!!!!

So since I was 12 yrs old I have penciled them in and have got very good at doing this but it causes all sort of problems and I was always concious of going swimming and on wet rides etc... It can be very embarassing as I have very dark drown hair.

So in October I went and had them tattoo'd on and it is the best thing I have ever done in my life! They look so natural and it doesn't effect the hairs that you still have. The lady who did mine tattoo'd each hair so it took about 3 appointments to get it right and this will now last for a couple of years and I dont have any embarassing moments anymore :cheer2:

HI there! :wave2: I had a similar problem. I decided I would get my eyebrows waxed and OMG what a mistake! The lady practically took my eyebrows off! The worse part is I didn't realize that they looked bad and kept getting them done by the same woman. :sad2: When I came to my senses I gradually let them come back on thier own. The right one looks perfect, the left one still has empty gaps and it's been over 2 years! I also use a brow powder to fill it in, works much better than a pencil. I did read online once that you could use rogaine to get the hair to grow back. There is another type of oil or something too but I don't remember what it was called. I was always to scared to attempt it but if you do a search for thin brows you might come up with a solution. GL!

Thank you for the replies, I think I will try the brow powder, and maybe just try to let them grow out on their own, I just hope that it doesn't look like a sasquach during the process. It is a darn good thing that my VR isn't until 2008.

Thanks
Kim

I over tweezed the heck out of mine for years - think Pam Anderson ala Baywatch eyebrows - I never really thought about it, I just kept tweezing, and then I got a good look at them and got scared and my mom said they looked bad and then boyfriend/now-DH he said the only thing he'd like me to change is to have eyebrows :sad2: It's been almost 3 years now that I've let them grow back in (of course I still shape them!) and they are filling in. For every day makeup I don't mess with them, but if it's a dressy ocassion or something like that I fill them in with pencil and a brush. At least they look "normal" now. Good luck - if you can keep from tweezing until your VR but still keep them shaped you should be fine. It's hard though, it becomes like an addiction to see a hair and pull it out!

This was just on Oprah last week and the girl that had her's "fixed" look amazing afterwards ~ check out her website and see if there is a link there. They used a shaping kit and eyeliner filler.

Good Luck ~ Teresa

i would definately pencil and brush them until they grow back..

There is a downside to all of this-- sometimes over plucking leads to hair never coming back. You can actually pluck until the hair follical just stops coming back in. Ive seen this a lot. There was a TYRA show not too long ago about people who overpluck their brows. You might go to her website too and see if you can find anything.

I've thought about trying Talika Eyebrow Lipocils to grow in where I've overplucked. It's avalible at Sephora and claims to produce results in 30 days. So far I'm sticking with the eybrow powder/grow 'em in route, but you might be interested...

I pluck/wax mine, but there are not many there to begin with. I have thick, dark hairs, but there is a lot of space between each one. I trim them as well, but if i'm not careful, pluck one wrong hair and bam! uneven city. I currently use brow powder/shadow to fill them in b/c I had a compact of it. I'd like to go back to pencil, drawing in "hairs" with small strokes and then blending with a brow brush...but that compact is going to last me forever...lol

if I let them get too scraggly, I just finish growing them out and go get professionally waxed...
