What is first choice of shoes to wear on a rainy day if you were still going to the parks?

We will be will be going in June and expect the typical rainstorm in the afternoon. I am bringing sneakers, Crocs and Clarks. Just wondering if the Crocs become a little slick if they don't get a chance to dry. I just hate the feeling of soaked sneakers all day. Thanks for any suggestions.

We always wear sandals to the parks. Just make sure they are made of a material that dries quickly.

We were there this past August during TS Faye. So you can imagine how much rain we encountered. Me, my kids, my sister, my niece and nephew all wore Crocs and had no problems with slipping. The only place it got bad was at the end of the night walking into the large store on Main Street in MK. But they had a HUGE puddle right at the door and so everyone was slipping, no matter what type of shoes they had on.

My dh wore socks and sneakers and had to admit that he didn't like his wet sock feeling. I just chuckled at him because he refuses to wear Crocs. I had no such feeling. So my recommendation is Crocs.

I love Tiva...and I get Awesome deals on Sierra Trading post, also get coupon code on fatwallet.:thumbsup2

Buy yourself a pair of Helly Hansen's when you get to the Norway gift shop in WS - they have great water/boating shoes, I buy a new pair every time we go if they have them. They have small little drain holes so if you get soaked (without wearing socks of course) they dry very quickly, are not slippery at all, and are very comfortable. They sell them online too.

My Sister swears by those shoes....hoping to buy a pair for myself.:thumbsup2

You know I've been looking up several comfy shoes, but i haven't checked much on slip effect. I have heard a lot abt the Teva shoes (a bit pricey for me), another shoe i've read abt are skechers. I don't think those are slippery at all, they have both sneaker and sandals (reasonable prices as well)

I always where my chacos sandals - as long as it's above 50 degrees. :)

They have a fabulous non-slip sole (as they were originally made for white water river guides) and the straps are smooth nylon webbing that dries VERY quickly.

They are spendy, but totally worth it. I have a pair that I have worn for almost two years - wearing them nearly every day in the summer, and I walk A LOT. They are very tough. Sometimes you can find them on sale @ Zappos --- they just had a couple of versions of the Z1/Z2 style for under $70 a pair, which is a STEAL.

They are also ridiculously comfy, and I have seriously picky feet.

Just bought Tevas for the kids, and my hubby and I are debating between Teva or Keen shoes for ourselves.

We've been there, done that many times with Crocs, and they are just too slippery. We go for several weeks each July, and Crocs are just too slippery in the rain - we always have new pairs too (we have way too many Crocs in our house - LOL!). This is the nature of Crocs. No more Crocs for us except for around the pool and walking in garden. I do love them as they are great for my back and bones, but they are just too slippery in the rain.

Happy shoe shopping, Tiger

I wear my Keens as long as it's warm/hot. :)

If it's cold weather I wear light hikers in leather/goretex. I am from a rainy area so I am used to the rain LOL i never think of it much.

I was wearing Croc sandels a couple years ago in Epcot when it started to downpour. I couldn't run (or walk very fast) bc they soooo slippery. I stick to Tevas now.

DH, DD, and I all wore Tevas last year during TS Faye, we loved them. Not slippery at all. I bought a pair for DS to wear this year because he did not like his wet sneakers.

I agree about the crocs getting slippery. I take them to the restroom and dry them in the hand dryer for a few minutes and they are fine again.

The only shoes I wore the whole time we were there was Crocs. Everyday, all day. My feet never hurt, never got blisters. And even when wet I was good. Now I don't have the flip-flop kind just the regular ones. My DD wore their Disney ones and they were great also.

Another person here who was there during TS Faye last August ... I think we had 1 day during our 7 day visit that it didn't rain. I wore Teva Mush flip flops during the whole trip and never had a problem ... they dry quickly and no problems slipping.

I wear croc all time. However when the bottom is wet or on wet pavement or floor they can be really slippery! I have slipped and fallen many time (smooth floors like a store)

I've tried the Tevas and they are just not that comfortable to me. I have several pairs of Columbia sandals and they're awesome. They dry super quickly and have excellent traction for when it's wet. LOVE them and wouldn't be without them.
