Going "Home" to Vero Beach for the first time Aug.21-Aug.25 w/ DH and DD5. Any suggestions on what there is to do if it rains?

They will sometimes offer activities indoors if it rains. They may have something going on in the Community Hall or the lobby of the inn. I'm sure you will have plenty to do.

We've never really encountered terrible rain in all of our trips to Vero. Usually it is your typical Florida afternoon rain that lasts for maybe 45 minutes and then it's bright and sunny again.

You can always go to the Green Cabin Room and relax there. We like to sit in there and play checkers with our kids.

Rent a movie, play a game, take a ride into town.

Have a great time!:sunny:

We went shopping in the town of VB when it rained when we were there (but I was with two of my 2 female cousins, not my DH, LOL).

If you have a car, you can drive to a movie. Would the Space Center be an option for you? There are indoor things to do there.

Hoping it doesn't rain too much when you are there. For me, the pool and the beach are a big part of the attraction of VB.

Best wishes -

We hope it doesn't rain either since we are looking forward to spending most of our time at the beach or pool!

We've never been down to Florida in August and have heard that it tends to rain most afternoons!

My DH really wants to go to the Space Center but I don't think my DD5 will get much out of it - I would rather wait until she's a little older.

On our 4th trip to Vero last August, we had rain every day from about 1pm to 7pm ish. We borrowed ALOT of movies from the rental place. We visited the store ALOT. If it was a drizzle with no lightening/thunder, the pool was open, so we swam anyway. We still had alot of fun, but it did try our patience with 7 kids in our party of 12!. In fact, my husband planned a surprise vow renewal for our 10th anniversary - it was supposed to be held on the croquet lawn, but it rained. We ended up in a private room in the hallway heading to Shutters.

This was our 3rd time going in August and we have never had weather like that. The entire East Coast was stuck in a weather pattern of rain for the whole week, so it was definately a fluke.

Bellesmama- we will be in Vero the same time you are. We get there on the 19th then head to WDW on the 24th. We too are keeping our fingers crossed for some great weather!!! See you there!:D

We (DH and I) are going to VB, after being at WDW for 9 days, the week-end after Labor Day. Can anyone tell me if its disserted or because it being the week-end a little more of a crowd?

More crowded weekends and holidays, especially with the additional pool guests with local pool crashers stopping in. Less crowded during the week probably because some local have to work and try to keep thier jobs.

Pool crashing is a problem at Vero. I guess rain would keep some away.
