What do you do on rainy days at wdw. I am going in May and have no idea what to do when and if it rains. We are staying at the CR. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks....

We just bought Poncho's for our trip (Philadelphia Eagles). Hopefully they will stand out in the park so we can find each other easier. Does anyone else do anything different (in case of alot of rain and no rides open).

:)

Are most rides still open in the rain? Are characters still out? We booked for June and all info that I have found informs me that we have picked the rainest month.

Characters are not out in the rain but most rides are open. The exception to this is Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, pretty much any outdoor rides. Although, rain alone doesn't cause a shut down, it has to be lightning as well or the rain has to just be pooring. Definitely do the parks in the rain! It is fun and some of the most memorable times I have! It was wonderful because the crowds were lower and everyone, not just us, was drenched!!! You should see the pictures! A must do if you are going to the parks, enjoy it in the rain! :rotfl2:

Two Sundays ago we went to MK in the rain. It was a steady rain but not pouring. We wore our ponchos and stayed at MK for about 2.5 hours. We rode all the indoor rides and just walked right on. All rides were working. After awhile we just got too wet and decided to go back to the room and take a warm bath. But after lunch we went to AK and it was empty. The rain had stopped, but the park stayed empty. We had a safari car to ourselves.

On another drizzly day, we went to DTD so we could use our 7th day of our pass on our last day at WDW. But if I had to do it again, I would have gone to a park. There's lots of indoors things you can do to stay out of the rain most of the time. And once you see how crowded the parks are in the sunshine, it makes it all worthwhile.

Epcot is the best rainy day park. With the exception of Test Track everything is open and the rain gives you an excuse to pub hop, if you need an excuse. MGM is good in the rain too.

i think MGM is the best park for the rain. most of the attractions are inside. future world in epcot is also okay in the rain (although test track will usually close) but i would NOT recommend world showcase in the rain. so much walking. i was there once in november and it was pouring cold rain, my mom and i were walking around the world showcase and by the time we got to germany i was violently ill from being so wet and cold. besides, WS is so beautiful that i'm sure you'd appreciate it much more on a nice day :)

Rainy days we head to Disneyquest! The kids love it! We stumbled upon it by accident one day when it was raining and thought we would go check out DTD, we checked out DisneyQuest and it was a lot of fun! My kids are demanding that we do it again this year (rain or shine)! :umbrella: :sunny:

Agreed... And in the Summer, rain is a very good thing. :cloud9:

>> 1) put on rain ponchos

They bring out the poncho boxes in all the shops when it rains. Something like $5 at the park, or $1-$2 at your local discount store.

We already bought poncho's for $12 :earseek: But that was because we bought one's we would be able to spot in a park.
