Rainy day - no line at FOP!

yesteday was miserable but we made the most of it. FOP was a walk on!!! I asked the CM if she’s ever witnessed the line this short and she said no. As crazy as the weather was, one of my best Disney memories ever.

How cool! Did you ride it a bunch of times? :goodvibes

It seems most parks are much quieter when it rains.
We've found, when the rain starts, if it continues, a lot of guests leave. When the rain stops, it takes at least anhour for the park to fill again.
haven't had the luck you did though.

DW and I had a great day at MK during an extended rain once. Walked on many rides including 7DMT, but never had the opportunity to walk on FOP.
That sounds awesome!

Yea we did the same thing yesterday with Slinky at HS-10 minute wait at most. I don’t consider Yesterday’s rain typical though – it was more like a tropical storm - 24 hours of rain that did not let up/ but it was so cold!! Parks were emptier than I’ve seen in a while.

We did not bc it was late. But we did ride Everest multiple times

So Everest was operational even though it was raining? I thought the outdoor rides quit operating due to rain.... or is it the lightening?

Generally the issue is lightning, though a strong enough rain may impact operations also. Yesterday’s rain was steady but not particularly strong for the most part.

I don’t mind the rain in the summer time, when it is a relief from the heat. When the weather is cool, I would likely head out of there as well. Awesome for those who braved the weather and had the rides to themselves!

Man, very happy for you- and envious. We went to AK the day before and it was absolutely slammed on Saturday. We did reasonably well getting on fop first thing in the morning (about 75 minutes). After that though, the park got really, really busy. We were checking out the wait times on the app during our rainy drive home yesterday and amazed what a difference a day of solid rain makes.

Some of our best memories are of rainy days. The best was a New Year's Eve at HS. Should've been packed, but it was near empty. And they still did the fireworks that night!

May 2018 we were at MK, and it was raining so hard that Tomorrowland was underwater in spots. It was over ankle-deep between Buzz and PeopleMover. We just plowed on through the water to our next FP and continued with our day. Although that was also the day we didn’t expect rain and left our ponchos at the hotel. We were soaked but had fun anyway.

We were in Magic Kingdom on Sunday and the rain was definitely crazy! It didn’t let up at all the entire day and it was cold! But we had lots of fun riding the rides over and over again with no wait and there were lots of special moments too! We got to see the Rainy Day cavalcade (which we didn’t know existed!) and there were lots of cool characters out! We left after 11 hours in the rain because we were just soaked and cold but we could’ve gotten on anything we wanted at that point! It was a pretty cold experience!!

Yep, we were there from May 12-20 and the rain didn't let up much. Leaving MK one night after HEA we were walking through water near the bypass and Tony's that was several inches deep and it sucked my flip flop right off! I bought good ponchos the night before we left for our trip and it was the best thing I ever did to prepare for a Disney trip because we needed them every day.

We had an awesome rainy day in AK last April. FoP was not a walk on but after the rain Pandora was empty so we were able to play around and see everything and get some great pics (as opposed to earlier in the day when it had been wall to wall people). We lucked out with a FP and could have gotten back on with a 30 minute wait but my younger daughter didn't want to. We rode Kali in the drizzle a couple of times in a row and it was hilarious! Walked into RoL less than 10 minutes before it started and got second row seats. My girls didn't believe that staying through the rain would pay off, but boy did it!
