i keep reading people mention rain forest spa treatments. What is this? Why would you purchase this for full week?

It is an area inside the spa with heated lounge chairs, 1-2 person personal hot tubs, three different types of saunas and three (four?) different showers, each with several different fragrances and showerheads you can pick from. You can pick a cold or a hot shower, a misting or an overhead rainforest drenching, a citrus scent or something more "ocean-y", etc. Lots of combinations.

It really isn't a treatment, per se, but the passes are limited, so it's a nice place to relax and get away from the crowds on the pool deck.

I purchased for the week on our last trip...a couple of days will do just fine. It's a nice experience but you won't make it there every day with so much else to do.

We just get a day pass and enjoy the quiet peaceful setting. It is relaxing trying the different saunas and cold/hot showers. I wouldn't want to use it every day, but it is a nice treat once or twice during the week long cruise. I do have to say that I like the rainforest room better on the Fantasy versus the Magic.

My hubby and I absolutely love the rainforest room, and a weekly pass is a must do on all of our trips. We spent at least an hour in there every day just enjoying the quiet and the atmosphere, usually in the morning before we start our day. On the Wonder, my favourite is the aromatherapy steam room and the dry sauna, and on the Fantasy it's the hot tubs overlooking the ocean and the wonderful dry sauna. We also really love the chocolate/peppermint body scrubs which we save and bring home with us to remind us of the cruise.

Ooh maybe someone here can help me figure this out. How do I go about getting a day pass to the rainforest? I've seen conflicting tales of needing to get them on the first day versus needing to buy them in advance. I don't see it as a spa option on the reservation website. Also, can anyone confirm it's actually $16? Seems too good to be true.

We LOVED the rainforest. We bought a week pass and spent at least 2 hours there every day, we made the time. Lol. It was soooo relaxing. We ran right to the spa once onboard to buy our pass. I've been told they sell a limited amount but I'm not sure. Even when it was "crowded" it wasn't really all that crowded. I don't think you can buy them in advance, so it was the first place we went once we boarded.

You are supposed to go from various saunas and showers and repeat. At some point you can use one of the scrubs in the sauna. My husband was brave and did the cool mist shower which is the coldest. I way couldn't handle it but he said he felt invigorated. And those heated lounge chairs are to die for, I want one for my house.

And not sure on daily rate, but we spent around the $200 mark for the 2 of us for the week.

What is the rainforest room and experience like on the Wonder? I've seen photos and it doesn't seem as glamourous/relaxing as on the Fantasy.

To reserve a day pass, you have to call DCL to book this. It actually comes out to exactly $18.88 with tax/tip per day and is a much cheaper option compared to booking on the first day once on the ship. They only issue so many passes per day to prevent overcrowding. IMO, it's totally worth it and a must-do every cruise. When you book in advance, the scrubs are NOT included and can only be purchased when you check in at Senses. After my first cruise, I always bring my own scrub and have had no issues doing that. It's sooooo relaxing

I liked the Rainforest room on the Wonder. No hot tubs, but it is very serene and quiet.
Do you recall if they give you the scrubs on the Wonder? I'm really contemplating purchasing a couple day passes on my next cruise.

I was not given any scrubs - but I didn't ask for any.

That looks amazing. I am definitely going to do that. Is there age limit? Adults only I assume? What do you wear in those showers? Bathing suits I assume? Lol.

We did this on our January cruise and bought the week pass the day we boarded. :) You can buy an individual pass or a couples pass . We used it every day of our 7 night cruise and really enjoyed the 2 person whirlpool, the saunas and my favorite was the heated loungers. I wish I could have broight one of those home as a souvieneer!

You can buy the single day pass ahead of time by calling DCL ( if you want to see the order number and price before tax and gratuity it is under the Amenities tab on the website. You cannot buy the weeklong pass ahead of time. It is the first stop I make after boarding to buy it. :)

We bought a one day pass on the Dream. Love the jacuzzis and the warm chairs... The showers were nice too.

I Loved it but I don't think I would go every day.

I agree. I never find myself able to go every day anyway, especially port days. Sure, I could make it a point to squeeze in a visit every day, but having to squeeze it in kind of defeats the whole purpose of relaxing there.

In the future, I think I would just buy a few days passes and be fine with that.

The rainforest room on the Wonder and the Fantasy are both very nice, and share some features, but overall the feel of them is quite different. On the Wonder, there are no windows to the outside at all - so it feels darker, but also quieter. The lighting is calm and relaxing. The heated tile loungers are entirely made of tile, which I like better than the ones on the Fantasy in which only the middle of the chairs are tiled. There are steam rooms on both ships, but on the Fantasy, they were all too hot for me - the mild one was found in the locker room which was nice, but I couldn't share that experience with my hubby. On the Wonder 2 of the steam rooms (one plain, one aromatherapy) were just perfect for me. The showers were much better on the Fantasy - I never found the ones on the Wonder to work that well. The dry saunas are nice on both ships - but I would give the Fantasy a slight edge as you can look out over the ocean from the window. The hot tubs are only on the Fantasy and are fantastic.

Overall I'd say that the Fantasy has the edge, but both are nice and you can't go wrong with a pass on the Wonder.

The spa is 18+, adults only. The area is co-ed so yes you wear a bathing suit!

I believe that I have seen packages with and without the scrubs. We don't use the scrubs in the spa but we take them home instead to enjoy the memories of our cruise!
