so i've been to disney every year since i was 8 (i even worked there once and am going to start working there again in 2 days) and everytime i look foward to dinner at Rainforest Cafe at DTD. well this time the service was so bad that i actually had to leave!
the story:
we get there (my father, sister and i) and put our name in, wait about 10 minutes then they lead us back with a group of people to the back room to be seated- now we were the first group in line and were only a party of 3. so then the hostest took the 3 groups behind us- all of them were parties of 4 with no little kids, then she takes a few more parties behind us and finally 25 minutes later my father asks her why she hasn't seated us, but seated about 3 parties of about the same number. she looks at us (very rudely by the way, and we were still trying to be nice since we were happy about eating there) and says that we needed to stop hounding her and wait- we hadn't even said a word to her before that! then she has someone finally take us to the gorillia room and seats us right below a big gorillia that when it "speaks" we can't hear eachother and the table was also right at the edge where people line up, so of course i kept getting my chair knocked by people walking by. We asked to be moved, and were told no, even though it was only 4pm (early dinner) and there was 7 empty tables around us and they were seating everyone else in the other room. the last straw was when we waited and no one came to take our drink orders and we just watch a group of waiters standing together talking, then our waitress came over (from that group) and said to wait just a few minutes and she'd be back over for drink orders! there wasn't even anyone else in her area to wait on! so, now that we were starving for food (it'd been about a little over an hour now) we decided just to get up and go somewhere else for dinner (by the way, the earl of sandwich is really good!) and were given dirty looks by the waitress and the hostess as we walked out.
that was so disappointing and now we're not sure if we really want to ever go back there! it is so said since it has always been our favorite place to eat since it had opened.

I have never had a bad time at RFC, YUmm Mojo Bones or rasta pasta. I have a members card which gets me automatic seating and discounts on meals, find out if they still offer it. That should cut down on the wait time. Now the location problem, when I'm brought to an area for seating I always check to see if there are going to be problems. If it seems like there will be before sitting down I ask for a differnet table. If they won't change locations I'll wait till something else opens or I just go somewhere else. But I have never had those problems at RFC. Sorry to hear about yours!

Wow sounds exactly like what happened to my DH and I on our last trip there except that it was just the two of us. We should have left but didn't. It just got worse from there. They didn't even get our order right. The best part the waiter actually began to argue with me about what I had ordered. It was a chicken ceasar salad  We're usual pretty understanding when it comes to mixups and problems at restaurants since my DH has worked as a waiter but this was too much. I'm glad though that some people have had better luck but we won't be dining there again. ITA that Earl of Sandwich is really good!

After about three times experiencing similar bad service, we decided that there were too many other good places to eat at WDW to waste another visit to RF.

We've always had great service there- but this one would have left me steaming!!

If I were you I'd write to corporate and tell them- even better if you have the name of your server. I've only had a few horrible experiences like this, one at a small chain sit-down restaurant and complained online.

The actual manager of the restaurant called me- apologized, sent a written letter of apology (a personal one, I might add) and a $50 gift certificate. THEN corporate sent me a box with a pen, mousepad, beer cozy and a tshirt along with their version of an apology. Let's just say they won me back!

Never hurts to complain- it at least made me feel better about the situation!
