I read that Rainforest is $15/day but I hope it will be cheaper if we get the whole cruise length.

TIA.

On our 7 night it was $75 for the week, so it was a slight saving, but not huge. I knew I wouldn't be going everyday, so I opted just to buy the $15 day pass on the two days that I did go. If you will use it daily, the week long pass is probably a good deal.

my3m...I'm on the same cruise as you. What is this Rainforest that you're talking about?

The Rainforest is a special area of the spa with a couple of scented showers, scented steam rooms, a sauna and heated tile loungers. It is very relaxing. You do not need an appointment; you can just go to the spa and purchase a one day pass for $15 or you can purchase a pass for the length of your cruise which allows you to go everyday.

Sounds great... I'm planning to try this on our cruise, Tuesday 11.8 which is our 15th wedding anniversary after Brunch in Palo (if we'll be lucky to book it onboard).

Did you join our Cruise Meet?

We are staying in Radisson before our cruise.

Thanks for the info! Sounds pretty nice. Actually someone wrote about it on the LIVE report if you haven't read it yet.

I did join in on the cruise meet and I look forward to meeting everyone. We're staying at the Orlando Airport Hyatt the night before.

We booked our Palo's on Wednesday night..same as Pirate night. I'm thinking of changing it so we don't miss that meal!

Happy anniversary (We'll be celebrating 15 next June!)

When you book the rainforest for the day, do they give you a pass to use throughout the day? Could I go in the morning while DH goes in the afternoon?

Your pass is good for the entire day on which you purchase it so you can go multiple times, but it is good for you only. If your DH wanted to go, you would need to purchase a separate pass for him. You won't be allowed to share one pass.

did those that bought the week pass go everyday? it is our first cruise so i know we'll be busy doing many things so i'm not sure if it will be worth it. also what are the hours? thanks :)

I'd like to know more about this also. Can you only get this once onboard or can you also do it online? If you bought a 2 day pass would that have to be consecutive days or any 2 days you choose? Sounds like an inexpensive alternative to the Spa. Is this where some have posted they go to take their showers because they don't like the showers in the staterooms? Sorry for all the questions but it is my first cruise. TIA :teeth:

You can purchase the full cruise pass at the spa after you board. I believe the only multi-day pass they sell is for the length of the cruise, other than that you just purchase a pass for $15 each day you opt to use the Rainforest. I chose to go on a couple of days so I paid $15 each day and as you said, it is a nice, inexpensive alternative to experience the spa without shelling out for an expensive treatment. And yes, this is what people are referencing as an alternative shower as it is quite a bit nicer than your stateroom shower which is small.

Just a thought - but let's assume that you won't go on the first day of a 7 day cruise since there is just too much going on with all the excitement...and I know there are those people who are ready for some R&R, but for the rest of us who have lunch, go to the drill, do the sailaway party...by that time it is time to get ready for dinner, show, etc.....so the first day is kinda a no-show.

That actually leaves you possibly 6 more days that you can go - since the last day is definatley out.

Wouldn't it make sense that the likely hood of you going EVERY ONE of those 6 days is unlikely. And going EVERY ONE of those 6 days is the only way that purchasing the full week is cheaper. Because if you go 5 days and pay each day it is $75. Only if you go EVERY ONE of those 6 days do you get a slight price discount.

Guess what I'm trying to figure out is - wouldn't it make more sense to pay by the day and then you can truly know that you're getting your money's worth. If you only fit in 4 days...you are only paying $60.

Guess I should laugh at myself considering the thousands of dollars I'm paying for the cruise...to squable over a mere $15. It is the financial part of me coming out!!

Any one else's input?

We used the rainforest every day and loved it. Sometimes we would go twice a day. I would take my book in there and read on the lounge chairs, then get up and use the sauna and steam rooms. It was never very crowded and it was very relaxing. We weren't that interested in all the other activities, so this was a nice treat for us. ENJOY!

I'm still having a hard time understanding what a scented shower is and how it can be co-ed?

isn't there an option of a three day pass for $40??

Showers are co-ed because you leave your bathing suit on while you shower. The water has mint in one of the showers and a fruity blend of some sort in another. There is also just a plain one where there is shampoo and conditioner. They are very, very nice. We do go everyday except the first. We have bought the package on the last two cruises. I don't think we will do the package next cruise because we will be getting couples massage and on the day you get a spa treatment the cost is only $8. So, if we buy the package and use it 6 days, one of them a treatment day we will be down $7. The Scrooge in me tells me that is not a good deal. However, the Scrooge in me makes sure we make time everyday to go if we do the package. By the end of the cruise you practically have to pour us off the ship!

I haven't been on my cruise yet so I don't know. I was wondering, do you think there is time to go to the rainforest after the 8:30 show the first day? That is the only time I could see me doing it on the first day. There will be too much going on before dinner.

BuzzBoyMom,

I LOVE the way you 'broke down' the cost!! Very smart!! Now, calculate in the special they offer, if you have a spa treatment (facial, massage, etc.) then the day in the rainforrest is discounted to $8, instead of $15!!

I am not sure, but I think the Rainforest Room was not open on the first day of our 7-day Western (embarkation day). They have an open house in the spa where you can walk in and look around, but it is not open for use. I'm not sure about later in the night, after dinner and such; but in the afternoon/early evening of that first day, it was not open for use.

I forgot about this on our May cruise - how sad!!!!!!! And I even had a few spa treatments!

I plan to take advantage of this May 2006 cruise!
