Rainforest Cafe

I have a credit with Amazon and I'm thinking that a GC to Rainforest would be a good way to use up these funds. We have a reservation at Animal Kingdom so we will be there for sure.
My question is, has anyone used GC's at the Rainforest? I read online that someone had an issue at one of the Rainforests at another location, they didn't except GCs. I don't want to run into this as we don't have that restaurant locally, I would have a credit with no where to use it.
So, anyone have experience with this?

We've used a Rainforest Cafe gift card at both the AK and DS locations with no problem; we've also used Landry's coupons. Possibly the review you read tried to use a DISNEY gift card and that was refused.

The gift cards need to be for Landry's restaurant group. My local Costco sells McCormick and Scmidts gift cards which is a Landry group restaurant and I have never had an issue using them at Rainforest Cafe. You may have other Landry's restaurants in your area and not know it.

been years but we had no trouble using a Rainforest gift card but could not use a Disney one for last little of bill

I have used a Rainforest Cafe gift card acquired in exchange for points from my bank at both the DS Rainforest Cafe and Yak n Yeti.

You can use ANY Landrys Gift cards at Rainforest, Yak and Yeti and TREX. A gift card system can go down however although rare. For an example a Macy's I waited on line... Gift card system was down. It happens so maybe that was the problem but you could ask when you check in.
