Rainforest Cafe

not sure, but that place rocks in the summer time so I would say do it around the 60 day mark. I tried a few times to get in with out one and could not.

I would call the Rainforest Cafe directly, as Disney Dine does NOT handle Rainforest Cafe priority seatings.

We had the same experience August two years ago. Just made ressie's two days later and it was no problem.

I think you can book even earlier than 60 days but I don't know how far in advance. You might want to check the website. The website has the phone number, too.

And, Sarah, I just wanted to say that clippie sure looks nice on you! ;)

From what I understand its like 6 months or so. Just note that the Rain Forest Cafe adds on a non optional additional 15% Tip onto your bill if you didnt know that going in.

For what? We just ate there Sunday night and did not pay any non optional tips....we simply left our own tip and that was it.

WHAT? Seriously? how many were in your party? Maybe it has to do with the size of your group. We had a party of 8 although we all paid on separate bills. Each one of us had to pay that tip. Now im aggrivated (dont worry not with you) the restaurant. Im gonna call the RFC and see what they have to say.

I would think it was because of your party size. A lot of restaurants (in our area at least) automatically include 18% gratuity for parties of 8 or more.

I was going to say what Pixiewings71 said - I have never paid a tip at RFC that wasn't optional. But I have heard of this done at some restaurants when the party is over a certain number of people. The only 'forced' gratuities we have had anywhere at DLR were at the character meals, and those are 15%, not 18% (at least not YET, anyway - they may be preparing to do an 18% add-on soon:sad2:).

Can you use your Rainforest CLub card for sitting at this one?

yes, you can, we use ours every time. :) That's what we got it for.

Yes, it was your party size, we have 4 in our party. :) I believe it says on the menu that parties of 8 or more have an automatic gratuity added, that's standard for most restaurants. And now that I think about it we ate there once with a party of 8 and we had a gratuity added as well. That was in Dec of 07 so I had forgotten until you mentioned your party size. :)

Just a note..they also serve a nice breakfast and it was not crowded at all.

I have to agree. Even though I like the vast array of choices at RFC for lunch or dinner, I actually think breakfast is the best time to eat there if you really want to see all the details of the restaurant and get the table of your choice and be seated instantly. When we ate there for breakfast last October, we got there right when it opened and were able to request which table we wanted and got seated right away (right next to one of the aquariums). There were very few other people in the restaurant at that time. I could count them on two hands. I suspect that very few people knew/know that RFC serves breakfast. During the late lunch, and especially the dinner, crowds, the wait for a table can sometimes be as much as an hour without a PS, and 25 minutes WITH a PS.:scared1:
