Rainforest Cafe

We have eaten at both and enjoyed it.

I will say this: There are Rainforest Cafes all over though, so we do not go there "on purpose" because while in Disney, we try to eat at places we cannot go to at home or in other cities.

If you go - I'm sure your kids will love it.

Have they been taking reservations all along? We are at the DTD RFC 4 years ago and when we called from our room they said they did not take reservations. The kids really wanted to go there so we put our name on the list when we arrived. It took about an hour for us to get a seat but it was a Saturday night so we expected it.

We enjoyed RFC, but it is a little overpriced in my opinion. We don't plan on going back just because we have been to the RFC in Chicago several times so we're doing other things while at WDW. If you haven't been to one before, I would definately go just for the experience.

We just bought their Rainforest card and we get almost immediate seating with that.

What card is this? We love to eat at RFC while we are in WDW. We also go to any that we see on any other vacations. I think that there have only been two others that we have seen outside of our WDW trips (Texas and Washington). We don't have one in our area so I am not familiar with this card. Please tell me how I can get one, price, benefits, etc.

Thanks for all the great information! We've never done RC at WDW, but last weekend I had a chance to take DS, 8, to the one in Chicago and he LOVED it. He wants us to review our WDW plans this weekend for our December trip to see if we can fit it in, and based on all the feedback here I will see if we can manage the AK location (although I'm bummed they aren't on the dining plan). In Chicago I had the fish and chips (which were better than I expected) and DS had plain pasta and one of my fish pieces (which is why I ordered it :goodvibes ) -- yeah, a little overpriced but I've had worse food for more money, and the atmosphere was cute; it's a good fit for WDW because RC seems to have taken a page from Disney's book!

It's a Safari Club Card. If you go to www.rainforestcafe.com you can get more information. You can get it at the RFC. I believe they give you a temporary card to use there and then you get a permanent one in the mail (although some places I've seen have the permanent cards there). Some of the benefits include 10% off every meal (for you and up to three guests excluding alcohol) or a free Chef's appetizer of the day, priority seating, 10% off retail merchandise, and more. When we bought it many years ago it was $10 (I think it still is) and we got a free appetizer plus 10% off of our meal. The $10 is a one time fee and is not an annual thing. It's great!

Also, it may not pay for itself (it did for us) on your first time to RFC but it never expires and it will definitely pay for itself the second trip!

On top of the discounts (which can easily pay for itself after a couple visits) you get to bypass the line. We almost always walk right in, but one particularly busy day they gave us about a 20 minute wait, but called us in about 10 minutes. Considering walk-up wait time was pushing 2 hours, we weren't at all upset.

You can also use the card at any Landry's restaurant for the same benefits.
