Can anyone tell me if the Rainforest Cafe takes reservations or if it's only first come first serve seating only? Also, can you join the Safari Club and use your membership on the spot? We don't have a Rainforest Cafe where I live and it's too late for me to apply for one and get it in time for our trip (only 16 days from now). Are there any "slow" times to eat there or is it generally always busy?

I took my family there when we were on our trip in May 2005, for the start of the 50th. The kids had a great time. We did not make reservations, we walked in and had a 5 minute wait, tops. There is a gift store, of course, to wait in, and there is a bench to wait on as well. After our meal was over, we went out to the front and watched the bird show. It was a very nice lunch. We went during lunch hours. We did not attempt dinner, instead we had dinner in DL, so I am not sure about the crowd at that time.

We made reservations almost 2 months in advance. I would call and see if you can make reservations for the time you want. You have nothing to lose :). Have a great trip!

If you go to the register at the gift shop, they'll sign you up for the safari club and give you a temporary card.

At that point, you can start using the benefits, including cutting your wait time in half and having a free appetizer with your meal. :)

yeah it looks like i should have as well...i never thought for a minute RC would be booked to capacity this weekend...Ive been calling for days to see if they had a cancelation and they havent...they still take walk ins though...go figure :confused3

We called 2 weeks before our vacation and made reservations. Our wait time was 15-20 minutes, even with reservations, but it was well worth it. It was a great time with good food and service.

Im going Saturday and Ive been calling to check every day to see if they have cancellations and they are booked solid...so I think I will spend the $15 and become a member...even if it cuts one hour off it will be worth it
