Does anyone go to Rainforest Cafe often enough to give me some good hints about seating? Can you request a particular room or table or location? It's such a fun restuarant to take the kids to, but it seems like the last couple of times we went, we were seated pretty close to the front (near the fish tank). Still lots of interesting sights to see, but I kept thinking the rooms further back looked way more intriguing. Was I just in a "grass is greener" frame of mind? :lmao:

We made priority seating reservations and were seated upstairs. I think I heard somewhere that they reserve the upstairs for priority seating. Not positive. We were right next to the fish tank (a different one than the walkthrough one) with the elephants behind (or in front depending on the side of the table) us and the gorillas across the way but still viewable. We were very happy with our seats.

sitting upstairs beside the big open atrium area is really cool...especially if you are beside the gorillas....you get the full effect of the monsoon rain and lightening and watching the gorillas.... the kids would love it! I'm sure you can ask to be seated up there. We have sat outside a couple of times too in the summer...that's really nice but not as entertaining for the kids.

Last 2 times we were there we had PS and got seated on the ground floor. :confused3

Depending on how busy it is, we've had luck asking if we could be seated close to the elephants/gorillas/fish tank/etc. But if they are really busy, we just got whatever was available.

Word of warning for anyone afraid of heights like myself- make sure you make it very clear when you check in that you would NOT like to be seated against the railing on the second floor. We didn't once and I was a nervous wreck the whole meal. :scared1:

These are great suggestions! I thought you had to be a member of the Safari Club to get priority seating? Am I remembering incorrectly? I suppose I could just call and find out! But I'm comfortably seated in a cozy spot of our living room with a coffee and the laptop :surfweb:, and the phone is in the other room!:rotfl2:

No, anyone can make PS for Rainforest, not just Safari members. They have their own number that you call (not Disney dining). It's super easy and quick to make a reservation with them. I don't recall if they have a time frame like DD does as far as how far in advance you can call or not, though. :confused3

Don't forget to print out one of the $10 off $25 coupons before you go! There are a couple of threads on Dis right now for it, or you can get it directly from their site.

ETA- the number for RFC is 714-772-0413. :goodvibes

You're awesome! Thank you! :thumbsup2 I didn't even know about the coupons!

You're very welcome. :goodvibes I'm all about saving money if I can. There is also a free appetizer coupon out there, but it appears it's one or the other discount. I used the appi coupon in July and they waiter would only let me use it on cheese sticks or the fajita pita thing. (coupon says something like chef's choice). I was just with my girls and we got the pita, and it was very good. But it was less than $10, plus if you don't want an appetizer that one wouldn't be any good for you. So just an fyi, in case you'd rather have that coupon.

ETA- found the other coupon. It's about 1/2 way down the page. http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp

The club membership makes it so that you can walk in, show the card, and get priority seating without calling ahead of time. Otherwise, you need to call ahead to get priority seating. :)

Thanks, Bumbershoot! I knew there was a reason related to seating as to why some people like to get the Safari Club membership.

Has anyone ever requested a particular area when calling to make the priority seating? Does it work pretty much like Disney's in that you can't request a particular table, just the time?
