I enjoyed (as always) the restaurant review this week. They always make me laugh, especially the bad ones.

I can't say that I was ever a huge fan of Rainforest Cafe (RC), as I generally avoid chain restaurants as much as possible, but I was sorry to hear that RC seems to really have gone downhill. It used to at least be a fun place to have a meal now and then. We've been to at least 5 RC locations that I can think of and never had a bad experience but we haven't been there for years (except a couple of years back DW and I went there just for a drink in Atlantic City). They actually used to have at least a couple of menu items that I thought were quite good. The one that sticks in my mind is an appetizer: southwestern egg rolls. They had chicken, corn, black beans, and other stuff and came in a generous serving. Sometimes I would just get those as my lunch which was cheaper than getting an entree.

Our daughter never loved the place but she was fine with it, as long as we didn't sit near the gorillas. Those freaked her out a bit.

I'm a little surprised to hear that with all of the recent renovations they did at DTD, they didn't at least clean up the inside. They redid the whole outside, added the new volcano, and built the lava bar around the side.

I would be curious to hear if the AK location has gotten just as bad. If nothing else, I'm sure they have the same prices so even if the food is better it would still be overpriced. Too bad.

I got the ribs at the AK location last trip and they were really chewy. I would give them a 3/10

:) The AK RC is one of our must dos for breakfast. DH gets the Eggs Benedict and I get the omelete ( if MIL is with us we split it). Generous helpings and fun atmosphere. The service is usually good. We also had appetizers at the bar on our last trip when the park was closing after dark. Almost had the bus back to AKV to ourselves. Now if you want to talk downhill..the calimari at Fulton's are the same ones I get at Olive Garden
