Rainforest Cafe-opinions good/bad?

I recently made an ADR for the Rainforest Cafe for lunch at AK for when we go in June. We have never been and I thought my kids would really like the theme. Since then, I bought the "Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld" book which does NOT give it very high marks. What do you all think of it? Any strong opinions either way? Thanks!

We like it there. We just had lunch there in Feb. The atmosphere is fun for the kids. I ordered a stir-fry that was very good. My husband had a sandwich wrap and my son ordered a burger. No complaints there!

If you stick with the sandwiches and burgers then you will be fine! I usually get the Rumble in the Jungle Turkey Wrap and enjoy it. Other family members have had the chicken sandwich, hamburgers and veggie sandwich and enjoyed them as well. They also have some good non-alcoholic smoothie drinks!

I've tried both of them at WDW and had a terrible experience at both. Poor service, bad food, long waits.

We love it....we have to go there every year we go! It is a tradition for us...we usually go to the one in DTD on the first night of every vacation! Im sure your children will love it!

At RFC in AK was bad,reason we made 1:00 ADR showed up for that ADR at 12:45 and was told would be 60 minutes before we would be seated.DW and I were tired and hungry.So at 2:00 we gave up and went to Flame Tree BBQ and had a great meal. Our experience at DTD RFC was great seated within 5 minutes of our ADR. Had ribs and wife a burger both were very good and service was good. Danny

We enjoy it. We haven't had bad service, ever. I LOVE the coconut curry sauce they serve with the chicken strips on the Awesome Appetizer tray...I could drink it straight. (If anyone out there knows how to make it, please post!)

We love the RFC. We try to go there every trip. We all love the volcano dessert .

I think the chicken fajitas are very good as well as their pizzas.

We always go to RFC at least once (twice during our last trip). Service can be hit or miss but we try to go during off times (not right at noon or 6 pm) and have gotten good service. I always get the same thing - a bbq chicken wrap and it's wonderful. DD loves the atmosphere. We've never had any major problems or complaints going there. You should give it a try.

We go atleast once a trip too. Never had bad service or bad food, we love it there!

We always go to Rainforest Cafe at least once every trip and we belong to the Safari Club (bought it so we wouldn't have to wait in line so long because there is ALWAYS a line!) The food is okay, I think the atmosphere is what is best. Kids always seem like they are having a great time there!

We always try to go each trip. We usually order 1 pizza for the 2 adults and a salad and split it.

I really like both of them. The food is fine, the atmosphere is a hoot, and the gift shop is fun. (I've never met a gift shop that I didn't like tho ).
We aren't going there this trip because it is not on the DDP Otherwise we would be!!

The Rainfoest Cafe was the first choice of my children when they picked places to eat on our upcoming trip.All 4 of them loved it when we went.

Our family also enjoys RFC. We didn't make it last year because we were on the
dining plan. I just made an ADR last night for our arrival day in April. We have not been to the AK one. We always go to DTD.

We have only been to the DTD location but only had one time with not so great service..the spagetti they have with sausage is not so great

Some good stuff: pot roast, pastalaya, salads

We went to the one at DTD last year and it's become our all time favorite place! We ended up going there twice. This year we have reservations on the night we arrive and will most likely end up going one more time. We might try the one on AK just because it's part of the DP. The pot roast was to die for, the volcano one word, YUMMMM. We didn't have any issues with any of the food that we got. They had a great variety of food and everything we ordered was delicious!

Only 20 days until we get to eat there (and of course be in the Dis).

We don't like it. The food is mediocre and the decor is cheesy. If you've never been, you might as well try it. You have to experience it at least once and see for yourself!

We found the food at RFC ok, the atmosphere is great though. RFC at AK can get quite crowded with long wait time, if you desire though and you don't mind, you can bypass the line and order a meal from the bar area. Same food, less wait.
