Hey everyone- I'm going to rainforest cafe for a late lunch/early dinner tomorrow. Whats everyones favorite things there? :) Any help would be appreciated!

crab cakes, pot roast, bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp - used to love the chocolate topped banana cheesecake, but it's off the menu now

Long before nursing school I actually worked as a "Safari Guide" (server) for Rainforest cafe LOL. Funny thing, I made more there waiting tables than I do as a nurse, but I digress.......

In my opinion, as a fromer Landry's employee, the best meals are/were:

Pastalaya (really great if you like spicy food, can also be made with rice instead of pasta, turning it into Jambalaya)

Pot Roast...sounds weird for RFC but was always really well received by my guests

Nile's Shrimp Enbrochette....these are the bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp mentioned in a previous post; they use to be available on a combo plate, not sure if that is still the case.

For Dessert: The Volcano! Loads of chocately goodness complete with a sparkler (unless that's against fire codes now).

Hope this helps! When you go, be sure to ask about the source of wood for the dining chairs, how the sky above replicates a night sky in the rainforest, and who receives the money from the Atlas fountain.......there really is more to this place than your typical touristy restaraunt if you take the time to enquire!

I like the Bamba's Barbecue Wrap chicken and the Jungle Safari Soup. The bread that comes with the soup and salads is soooo good. I always ask for extra. We have RC by us and we go there every once in while with the kids. DH loves the Blue Mountain Chicken Sandwich. He says its one of the best chicken sandwiches he gets. He is super picky. Dessert= VOLCANO

This is an appetizer but I loooove the chimichacha's (I think that's how it's spelled :confused3 ). I have them for lunch with a salad.

The chimi cha-cha appetiser is yummy! For an entree, I love the China Island Chicken Salad, or Blue Mountain Chicken Sandwich.

My husband loves the Jungle Steak and Shrimp.

Make sure you have a cocktail (they do non alcoholic ones too!). And you can get some very bright flashing glasses for your drinks to be served in :cool1:

There is an appetizer plate, the Awesom Appetizer Adventure, that I order for an entree. It has a Chimi-Cha-Cha, Blue Crab Dip with fresh made chips, Fried Calamari and Chicken Tenders. I was able to substitute the mozarella sticks for the calamari. There was also fresh made salsa on the plate along with dipping sauces.

My husband loved the pot roast. It was so tender, it would cut with a fork. The veggies were done just right too.

For dessert, I would recommend the Volcano. It is so good. It's three large (the size of my hand) hot brownies stacked around two scoops of vanilla ice cream and it's topped with caramel streaming down the sides. They have a sparkler on the top and the servers yell VOLCANO when they deliver it to your table.

Man.....I'm hungry! Gotta go!
