Can anyone tell me if I need to do an ADR for lunch at the rainforest cafe at DTD? Also, is it really THAT bad? I've heard some really negative reviews.

Rainforest Cafe at DTD does not accept ADR's. Only the one at the Animal Kingdom does.

Yes, the one at DTD, for dinner, is a nuthouse. Arrive early, put your name in, and walk around a bit.

When i was making my ADR's the CM put me through to Rainforest Cafe at DTD and i made a reservation for in May :thumbsup2

I'd call and double check that - DTD Rainforest Cafe doesn't accept ADR's.

To reiterate...please call Rainforest to make a reservation.

I had a mixed review of Rainforest Cafe at AK. We were there December 23 for lunch.

I found the ambient noise level was really loud...then came the thunderstorms!! Wow. :earseek: We go to family restaurants all the time with our two children DS10 and DD7 so we do expect the noise level to be high...this was annoying because you really did have to shout across the table to be heard.

My husband thought the hamburger was disgusting whereas I thought my chicken ceasar salad was great. The kids had spaghetti and chicken nuggets and they liked both.

It took the waiter three times to get our bill correct. He mixed up our bill and the people at the table next to us. Some of our order was on their ticket and some of their items were on ours.

Yes it is correct that you can't make ADR's at Rainforest in DTD, however you can call the restaurant directly and make a reservation. We did last fall and it was a good thing, it gets busy! Sorry I cannot find the number but if you did a search here on the DIS you will find it for sure! Good Luck!! :goodvibes

We've enjoyed Rainforest Cafe on two different trips, but both times we went around late lunch (1pm), both times with reservations made a week in advance just in case. The food (at least what we had) is a little above basic, neither slop nor fine dining, but priced up a bit from the norm because you're paying for the jungle atmosphere. Garden-burger was good, salad very good, fries okay, mac'n'cheese generic. Expect a minimum of about $12-15 per person.

The Restaurant (in DTD) was about 30% full one trip and 75% the next, and was definitely much louder as it got fuller. I personally would not go at night when it nears capacity, as it could be deafening in the sections near the animatronics. I don't see how any waiter can do it without ear protection. I would guess that it is maybe not as loud in the lower section near the restrooms.

Waiters were efficient both times.

Definitely a fun place for kids, but can scare 3yo and under if too close to "elephants."

We will eat lunch there again on our next trip.

Perhaps i am getting mixed up with a reservation and an ADR. I always forget that Rainforest is not owned by Disney, therefore i have (hopefully!) made a reservation. I will keep my fingers crossed XX :thumbsup2

When I called to make ADRs or PSs at my other Disney restaurants, I was told last month I can't reserve DTD RFC, but after seeing this thread, I called directly to this number 407-827-8500 and got a PS for next week. Thanks, as much as I have been to DW I never knew you could call this particular RFC directly to make a PS. Thanks for starting this thread! :goodvibes

You can also call 407-939-2648 to make reservations for DTD RFC. They accept them 365 days in advance for lunch & dinner.
I had a reservations for there in Dec. so know you can do it. It is a very busy place and sometimes the service is not as fast as you want/sometimes its great, :confused3 but we have always gotten very good food. :thumbsup2
