Rainforest Cafe coupons or discounts?

I was reading reviews on tripadvisor and I noticed one review said they spent $200 for their party of 5 and another said it was about $30.00 per person. Is it really that much for burgers, fries and a drink? I was budgeting around $125 plus tip. Do I need to up that amount? We are a party of 7, but I bet my three 10 year olds will eat off the kids menu if they can.

We were just there last Friday at the one in AK and for burgers and CHIPS it is $12.99. It is another $1.99 if you want to upgrade to fries. We had 5 adults. 4 Ordered burgers and fries and I ordered a pasta that had red sauce, Italian sausage and fresh mozzarella and it was $18.99. DH had a fountain pop, DD and her friend had bottled root beer (I think nearly $4 a bottle!) and two of us had water. I had a coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase, $50 in gift cards (from My Points), and I paid another $50 something for the rest of the bill plus the tip.

You can make ADRs through Disney Dining for either location. And if you are a member of the Safari Club, you get a free appetizer or 10% off your total check - choose which gives you a better discount. Since we used the $10 off of $25 coupon, we could not get the Safari Club discount as well.

Hey, Cookiediva! Thanks for the info about the ADRs! For some reason, I was thinking you could only make an ADR for one location (can't remember which one). I have two MyPoints gift cards I want to use in December -- one for $50 and one for $25.

Can I use both cards on the same meal? I think the answer is 'yes,' but thought I'd ask. Since you said you had cards, I thought you might have used two on your dinner.

Did you ask about also using your Safari Club discount with the coupon. I know the coupon says they can't be combined, but we have asked each time and have never not gotten the additional 10% off for the Safari Club. This actually makes it a great deal when you combine them like this. You should have at least been able to get the free appitizer since one of two of the entrees were priced outside of that $25 minimum to use the coupon.

Nope. Didn't think to ask. That and the fact that DH forgot his SC card in our room so it was moot. If we have a coupon on our next visit, we will be sure to ask about using both discounts - as long as DH remembers his SC card. :)

Another question about the Safari Club (sorry if it was answered and I missed it...)

1- when you join, is it an annual membership or good forever?
2- when you get the $10 coupon in the mail with your membership how long is it good for?

I might be driving past their CT location next month, but not going to Disney until Feb.

Just wondering if anyone is nearby a RF and can grab a Safari Club application for me? They closed my local one and you can't sign up online. If you can get one, I'll send a SASE. Just send me a PM with your address. Thanks!

Yes, but if you don't use your card for a year they may stop e-mailing you offers. You will have to use their form online to update your information.

Not sure about this, may be 6 months, though can't answer for sure. The coupon actually arrives via e-mail.

I don't think you can mail in the form. I think you sign up in store and they give you a temporary card. I know they don't have an online application and may not have a means to fulfill applications by mail. You would be just as well off to sign up when you get to the restaurant.

So, there's no way for me the get the $10 GC then, right? I was planning on eating there the night we arrive.

Right.

They don't want you to get an additional $10 off on your first visit as a Safari Club member - they want the repeat business!

Without a local RFC to visit and sign up in advance of your Disney trip you'll just have to hold the $10 coupon until your next Orlando trip.

BTW, that's exactly what we did some 10 or 11 years ago when we signed up for the Safari Club. At least at that time there was no expiration on use of the coupon.

When will you be traveling? Keep an eye on this board and also the Disney Restaurant board. RFC Safari Club often puts out coupons that can also be used by "friends". They are usually very quickly posted to the boards by members of the Safari Club. If one is available, use that coupon on your first visit and sign up the same day also. Then save the coupon you get in e-mail for your next trip if it doesn't expire first. Safari Club recently ended a great promotion that allowed members to give a $10 coupon t a friend and the friend could sign up for the Safari Club for only $10 instead of $15, unfortunatly it ended yesterday.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned - if you have an annual pass you can get a 10% discount.

I copied this from Disney's site:

Rainforest Café - Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom Theme Park locations - 10% off the regular price of food and beverages (excluding tax/gratuity) lduring breakfast/lunch/dinner for passholder and up to 3 guests

Rats! I was hoping to get it ahead of time. I had a local RF, but it closed years ago and there isn't one anywhere I can drop off the form to. I'll keep my eyes open for a new offer or coupon. Thanks for the insight!

My DH called and signed up over the phone however it was a renewal because we had been members before but had not used it in like 5 years. I think you could call and tell them your problem and then they would accomodate you.
