Rainforest Cafe at AK

We wanted to book the RF Cafe in the AK for the last night of our visit (a Sunday in November). Disney Dining told me that they are open that night from 5 to 6 pm. They didn't have a table left that was large enough to accomodate our party (of 5!) We would prefer an early dinner, but he said they don't open till 5 and close at 6. One hour for the entire day??? Does that sound right? How can they possibly make enough money in one hour to even justify the operating costs of opening their doors? I thought they served lunch?

Does the RF Cafe in DD take reservations or would we just have to show up?

That doesn't sound right. I'd call back and try again with a different CM.

I believe I'm correct in saying that the DD RFC does NOT take PS.
I also believe that it is not correct that the AK RFC is open for only one hour on Sunday(unless your particular date is closed for a private event?)

We have a Ps for the AK Rainforest for lunch in December and i recall her saying that they start serving lunch at 10:00 am. I THINK, they are also open there for breakfast too. I don't think that the DD RFC takes PS's but I'm not sure.I would call back and try a different CM. also note that you do not have to have admission to AK to eat at the RFC there.I just made all my PS's for December and got the most wonderful CM ever. It was almost like being at WDW,

I believe I'm correct in saying that the DD RFC does NOT take PS.

We called direct to RF AK (we were in a park..and guest services called them) when we found they would not let GS make a ressie for our party of five. So I made them myself direct.

They are open from breakfast through the last seating at 6 PM. We closed the place..which only seems right since our family was picked to open AK that day.

Perhaps "dinner" starts at 5 and the alst seating is 6. But I thought the menu is the same for lunch and dinner, so if true, then going earlier would not be a problem. Could this be?

I got another CM. She said that they are open for lunch that day but for some reason the only times that they can give me a PS for are between 5 and 6. Perhaps that is the dinner time frame, like you said? But I still think it is weird they can't give me a PS for lunch.

She said we would have to go to the restaurant first thing that morning and ask for a reservation. I can understand the one at DD not taking PS, but I don't get why this one doesn't operate under the same procedure as all other resort and park restaurants. Hopefully, since it will be November, we won't have a problem getting a table?!

Hmm. I have a PS for lunch (12:30) on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the RFC at AK. Something must be going on the day you are asking about.

It pays to be persistent. The THIRD CM that I spoke with couldn't believe I was told they were only open from 5 to 6 and she promptly gave me a PS for a 12:45 lunch seating. Go figure?

Sorry Jan but i don't really know. I asked for the earliest setting for lunch as we are doing EE at AK that day and are always starved before noon. She said, well it says that they start lunch at 10:00. I asked for 11:00 instead. I too thought they served breakfast but we had done donald's breakfast in the past. If, you can not get RF, that is a wonderful meal that we enjoy so much. DS just choose CM as our character breakfast this year instead.Good luck.
