This place gets some pretty poor reviews around here. We have never been to RF so this is a novelty for us....the menu looks pretty good to. Has anyone been recently?

I went last November and I thought it was great!

We have one by our house that we go to, but the one in AK had a better menu.

I had the crab cake sandwich and it was one of the best I have ever had.

We all really enjoyed our time and food there.

FYI ---- The Rainforest at AK also has a really good breakfast menu. The last time that we ate there, we went for a late breakfast after a morning EMH. We thought that it was a good meal and a good experience.

We decided to do Tusker House for breakfast (we have kids = characters). We had planned on a 5pm early dinner at Boma to wrap up the day and although it looks good, it does seem exotic. We are pretty basic eaters. I joke with my husband I don't even need a kitchen...just a microwave and a toaster and some frozen waffles! Anyway the RF menu looked good to us, but all the negative reviews have kind of spooked me....still we plan on trying it.

We think RFC is great. Mostly for the atmosphere, but we usually come back every year. ::yes::

We were just there last week. The food and atmosphere are great for us! I had the nachos...they were so good. If you run out of chips, just ask and they will bring extra. My DD's, ages 14 and 17, split the Rasta Pasta...loved it and they even had leftovers. We love the atmosphere and always have a meal there when we visit WDW.

We were there last week too (August 14) and really enjoyed our lunch. I had reservations too after reading the negative reviews especially the long wait times but our experience was very different. The atmosphere is really cool! As my son said, we played a "killer" eye spy game while waiting for our food. My son ordered the new england clam chowder and practically was licking the bowl when he was finished. I ordered the cheeseburger and it was ok, nothing spectacular, but hit the spot. My son also ordered the mini cheeseburgers and he liked them very much. Our server was very attentive and we were literally in and out within 30 minutes (we arrived at 11:30am). The gift shop is really neat too. It was a fun place to go to and I am glad we went.

Just wanted to add that Boma is really terrific too. Believe me, you will find something you will like. The soups and salads are delicious and the kids selections (chicken strips, french fries, pasta) are tasty as well. Oh, I almost forgot, the desserts are out of this world.

We always do RFC at AK on our trips - the kids love the atmosphere, and we think the food is good. It is a chain, and it is not "excellent" but that can be said of a lot of the TS restaurants in WDW. It is more about the experience. We will be missing it on the trip in Feb because we are going to try the DDP for the first time, but if we weren't, we would do it again.

Although Boma does have some exotic things on the buffet, they also have lots of basics -- Mac & Cheese, roasted meats, etc. I think that you could be assured of finding some good, basic food --- but you have the opportunity to try some other things, as well.

We love Boma for either dinner or breakfast ---- Breakfast is particularly good.

We also like RFC, especially at the Animal Kingdom. It is our mid-day lunch break where we can eat, I can have a beer and relax, my wife can have her favorite massive Cobb salad, and my daughter can shop. We have always gone there because it was the only TS restaurant at the AK and took ADR's. The new Yak and Yeti was tempting on our upcoming September trip, but we opted for the Rainforest Cafe.
