Rainforest Cafe (AK) AND BUSSES after park closing

Can someone tell me what time the RFC at AK stays open until? I would like to plan dinner there around park closing (5:00). Also, will we have trouble getting a bus back to the hotel when we are finished with dinner? Or is that a question for Theme Park Strategies or Transportation?

I wd not plan to eat here after AK closes unless you have a rental car. The disney buses will only run for a certain time after closing & you cd get caught.We did eat here after park closing on our last trip but we had a car. I wd ask when you make your adr, you might need to go 1/2 hr before closing to be certain to get a bus.

Thanks. I am bumping this up as I did make an ADR for 5:00 and I said to the CM on the phone that I didn't want to make it too late and risk missing the bus. She said, "Oh, no. The busses run late to allow guests to dine and shop". That put my mind at ease, but I didn't ask her exactly WHAT TIME they stop running. I am reading that it can take 2 hours to eat there, and now I read that the busses stop 1 hour after park closing. Does anyone know for sure? Is there a number I can call for WDW transportation? Thanks.

We dined at AK RainForest. Our dinner was at 8 and the park closed at 8. We were one of the last parties to leave the restaurant and there were Disney buses in the parking lot waiting on us. We had to stop at a couple of different resorts, but they make sure you have transportation back to your hotel.

When we ate there after the park closed, they had 3 Disney busses out there waiting when we were done.

The drivers ask you what resort you need to go to and direct you to a bus.

The drivers communicate with the restaurant on the radio to see how many people are left in the restaurant and if they need transportation. I assume that once it gets close to closing, they start asking guests if they need transportation. We waited about 15 minutes on the bus until one more couple came out and then we were taken to our resort. No one else got off so I assume they were dropping at several resorts.

Now, this was in late 2004, so things may have changed, but that's how it was done then and the comment from the CM would make sense if this were still happening.

If there are no busses you will have to take a cab. When you get to Disney, ask who they recommend for cab service and program the number into your cell phone, just in case.
