Rainbow Reef snorkeling

If we are staying at Aulani and have our own snorkeling gear, do we still have to pay a fee to snorkel at Rainbow Reef?

Pretty sure you have to pay but you can use your own gear to snorkle in the lagoon for free. Also if you pay for rainbow reef you can get gear to swim in the lagoon and it is included with the cost of rainbow reef.

We brought the kids' own snorkeling gear this summer, and yes, we had to pay for them.
