I have been checking the weather reports for our honeymoon trip and it says rain, rain and more rain...shold I be worried? We leave June 17th and will be there till June 22nd!

During this time of year, it always rains a bit each day. Some more than others. Just get interested in other things............. :love2: and make the shower time, an okay time. ;)

Looks like you'll be missing the Hurricane - hopefully another one won't be in the gulf in the near future. But it does rain - sometimes a little - sometimes alot. Most of the time it passes quickly. Sometimes it's hit or miss - It's raining at the Magic Kingdom & not at Epcot. I always go prepared with our ponchos - Usually in the summer about 3pm it will rain -during that time try to be in an attraction that's indoors. Usually by the time you get out, the rain has passed. We always decide which park to go to according to the weather also. You don't want to go to the Animal Kingdom when it calls for a rainy day - we'd go to Epcot where most of the things are indoors. If it's lighning out - certain attractions shut down, such as Rockin Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror. We usually make the most of it - relax, get an ice cream & wait for the lightning to pass & the ride to open again - then we're first on when it reopens! It's fun no matter what -rain or shine. Nothing to worry about! Have a great time! Congratulations too! :mickeybar

What other suggestions do you have when it rains? :umbrella: We leave in 2 weeks. :bounce: :wave2:  :rotfl:

Those afternoon summer thunderstorms can be very intense (but brief), so make sure you have rain gear with you at all times. A Mickey poncho will usually do.

Also take some rain gear for your cameras. I use a 1-gallon Ziploc as a camera poncho. I clip the corners of the bottom of the bag, creating holes just large enough for the clips on my camera strap to pass through, then I put the camera inside the bag and clip the strap on through the holes. Viola! Camera poncho! I've used this technique for years, and my camera has always stayed perfectly dry through even the heaviest downpours and wet rides. In fact, I think I could drop the camera in a pool of water and it would stay dry; it would take a long immersion to squeeze more than a little water through those holes.

It rained almost the entire time we were there 06/02-06/05 and at first I was really bummed. I finally realized that there was nothing I could do but make the best of it. We wore our dollar store ponchos when we needed to and appreciated that the sun wasn't blazing down on us. We had a fantastic time despite the rain.

It is just rain, not much closes and it is nice to cool off a bit :sunny:
I prefer an umbrella to ponchos because ponchos are HOT but sometimes the wind makes it so anumbrella is useless. Oh well.

I wouldn't do AK if it were pouring out all day long, but a few showers make the animals more active and everyone else seems to think you should avoid AK in the rain so it empties the park. Sure there is not a lot of shealter, so you will get rained on, but we were able to walk on the safari ride, and dinosaur and have the trails all to ourselves. In june. Now that is well worth getting wet for.

Carry a lightweight backpack on your trip and bring sandels to change into for the rain. My feet need better support for the whole day, but wet sneakers give you blisters... I would also carry sunblock and keep a travel umbrella and or cheap ponchos in there. Speaking of cheap ponchos, get a couple of sets at the dollar store if you can find them, it is so much easier to throw them away after they are wet than to try to save them, but if you pay the big bucks for the ones inside Disney you will want to save them.

Dont worry about the rain- Worrying doesnt help- I live in South Florida and it is now our rainy season- passing thunderstorms dont last very long- When it does rain it is usally in the late afternoon- enjoy a drink in your room- didnt you say it is your honeymoon?- You know what to do :)

World Showcase is a lovely place to spend in the rain- I recall being at the food and wine festival two years ago in the rain and it was lovely- no crowds at the food and wine booths- but this time of year just duck into one of the shops or restaurants and have a drink or a snack or do some shopping (Japan is great for shopping).

Even if you are sunbathing at your hotel's pool- the rain will pass and you will be able to enjoy the sun soon-

Dont worry!!

If the weather is really miserable there is a movie theater at Downtown Disney that is very nice with stadium seating and it shows all the new releases. Back in January DH and I were waterlogged and soaked and we just wanted to get indoors for a while, so we went to see "Meet the Fockers." Enjoyed the movie, and when it was over, we came out of the theater back into bright sunlight! You can get a bus to Downtown Disney from any of the parks and it is a nice way to get a rest out of the rain.
