Rain...

Another question for those familiar, since we will be down there saturday-wednesday, and the rain looks particularly bad. (We are also PNW'ers!) We have reserved seating dining reservations for both World of Color and for the Parade. Should we just go ahead and cancel those? I've heard they cancel at the drop of a hat, and we wouldn't really have a reason to eat at those places if we didn't want the reservations. I see that the rain will let up for tuesday. I could take a gamble on the world of color not canceling Saturday, and move the MSEP (which is more likely to cancel) to Tuesday....
I would cancel or rearrange the one for MSEP because they cancelled the parade at the last minute last Friday & there was no refunds.:(

Why on earth would TSMM close because of rain?

I don't think it was rain related on the day we were there. It just happened that screamin' , goofys, and TSMM were all closed for a significant part of the day. TOT was closed for the remodel as well.

When they closed TSMM, they had these big curtain-like panels that they pulled shut (I'd never seen those before)

My kids are older and love the bigger rides, they were disappointed but still had a great day.

Do they sell rain boots there, if I have to bring everyone's rain boots I'll have to bring another suitcase

No rain boots in the park. The only place at DTD that really sells shoes is Sanuk. I wouldn't wear a brand new pair in the rain. In lieu of packing, I would probably just wear them on the plane if flying and bring some flip flops in a carry on.

You might find kids size rain boots, but the nearest place I can think of that would carry boots for the whole family would be the Target about a mile south of the parks on Harbor. Or you could order on Amazon.com and have the boots delivered to the hotel.

Friday is going to be a soaker. Apparently the guy I have connections with didn't understand what I meant when I said it would be nice if it rained to scare off the locals.

We have ponchos, umbrellas, stroller cover, and extra clothes ready for Friday's dumping of rain!

Born and raised in California... my SoCal friends hide when it rains(they actually do melt)... I can handle it more since I'm from NorCal. Crowds are way smaller when it rains.

Up to 3.4 inches for Friday!

Kids will have raincoats and boots. Going to pick up a rain hat for myself. Wife is buying a few umbrellas.

Will do ESPNZone and maybe a movie.

Bring another suitcase. It is very hard to find rain boots down here. If you have a set that fits, bring them. It it is going to POUR this weekend.

I live locally and I could not find traditional rain boots. I live by the parks and tried multiple Targets as recently as a few weeks ago including the one on Harbor by the resort. No luck! I ended up using my old snow boots when I visit in the rain. I am a local who does not melt in the rain and loves to visit when the rains comes!

Try Marshalls. That's where I got mine. I got a plain black pair for $20. I love wearing them to the park when it rains.

We just got DH rain boots on Amazon.com with next day shipping. He should receive them tomorrow, and we'll be good to go for a DLR adventure on Friday!
And depending on your shoe size, Target.com has kids rain boots. I got mine on sale for under $20.
