Heading to DL Thursday (4/12)...and the forecast is rain. Being from Oregon....that would mean rain all-day.....now living in Arizona, rain means...a few drops then sun......what does it mean in Anaheim?
Its a 20% chance on Thursday, 50% on Friday & 20% on Saturday.
And what rides would they close due to rain??
Thanks!!

Not sure they close any rides in the rain, atleast I havent ehard of that happening.

AS for the forcast if its a 20 % chance then you likely wont get any rain. And if you do it wont be long (most of the time). 50% chance you will likely get a little rain for a while at some point in the day or night but I wouldnt be concerned. Of course the forcast can change hourly so keep looking back today and tomorrow to see what it says.

I believe the teacups are closed when it rains. The flooring that you walk across to get into the teacups is uper slippery when it gets wet.

A few can. Tom Sawyer's Island, Tarzan's Treehouse and the teacups all get shut down. Rain CAN shut down BTMRR but I think it has to be heavy. And you might want to think twice about some rides like Storybook Canals or even IaSW where part of the ride is outdoor, uncovered and SLOW. I still have vivid memories from getting caught in a December downpour while in a IaSW boat and slowly, painfully slowly, going under a little bridge where water poured off right into my seat -- and my rear. Not fun.

I believe the teacups are closed when it rains....

This is correct.

Also keep in mind something that for some reason seems to surprise people: Disneyland does not wipe dry the seats in between each person when it's raining. iasw boats will be wet. Big Thunder seats will be wet. And so on.

If it's full-on raining you will not have a parade. You may get a character cavalcade if it's on and off. Fireworks do not get cancelled due to rain, only lightning.

Fantasmic! can go in the rain, but may be altered a bit depending upon the rain. It could also be cancelled if the rain is heavy.

If it rains, youw ill have very low crowds.

Teacups are closed, Alice is also closed.

take umbrellas, take dry shoes/socks, take a Sham-Wow to dry off wet seats (carry it in your park bag in a Ziploc so it does not get other stuff wet). The amount of rain is unknown, sometimes it's a sprinkle, sometimes it's a downpour, just be prepared.

It's hard to say, but we were at DL during a "rain" day. We went into Indy and when we came out everything was soaked (it must have really poured), but it had already stopped raining for the day. Like others have said, BTMRR and Alice in Wonderland were closed for a while.

Or it can just be sprinkling here and there all day.

On the plus side, the crowds are usually light on forecasted "rain" days.

We have preferred dessert seats for F! Friday night (right now 60% chance of rain)....I hope the weather is great...would hate to have a modified show. (I have NEVER seem it....and was so excited!)
I own 1 small umbrella....I live in the desert:cool2:
I have 4 rain ponchos....but I was going to use them fro GRR (but we may be wet already).
About 18 hours till I leave......let in pour till I get there.....then clear up:cool1:

Somebody mentioned this in another thread...

A really cool ride in the rain is the Jungle Cruise. It brings the whole thing to life.

One more, it's not closed during the rain, but you will get wet. Mickey's Fun Wheel - Swinging. We got soaked the first time it swung with us from all the water sitting on top falling on us at once.

It rains almost every time we go. I've begun to interpret 20% as "it will rain 20% of the day". It was weird when it didn't rain the last trip and I realized that I almost always ride SSS in the rain; so strange to ride it without water droplets being pelted against you (it felt like it was missing something).

I have heard DL is fun in the rain.Could be a really awesome experience for you, or at the same time not a awesome experience for you,i think it just depends on how you plan for it. :)

What is a character cavalcade?:confused3

They load up the Fab 5 in the back of a flatbed truck and drive down the parade route. they can't do the regular parade if the road is wet, it's too slippery for the performers.
