We leave on Sunday and I was just checking the Weather.com for the Orlando 10-day forecast and they say rain Sunday through Tuesday, 50 - 60% chance - YIKES! Hopefully that will change when I check again on Friday or Saturday. I sure don't want to get rained out!

I see your from Michigan like me so we are used to rain and even cold. If it rains just wear your poncho and head out. Sometimes it is better when it rains because not a lot a people will head out to the parks. Also in Florida when it rains, it may rain for a half hour and then that is it.

Last year we went in between the 2 hurricanes. Our first day it rained in the evening for a few hours. We did not let in deter our evening. We just kept on going.

Have a great trip. We head back at the end of June.

By the way we leave 20 miles outside of Detroit. Where are you at? :)

We go for 2 weeks most years ... only go into the parks 2-3 days each trip because we just like to enjoy Ft. Wilderness, etc.

Anyway, the day that says RAIN, we head into the parks. I'm not so sweet that I won't melt with a little rain on me. Also a poncho and umbrella does the trick.

Besides, who believes the weatherman anyway?

I hope you don't get soaked everyday, but rain is a fact of life this time of year. However, there's no such thing as getting rained out! Grab your yellow poncho and join the sea!

Rain isn't a stopper unless you also have lightning and thunder. Then they shut down attractions.

Here (in FL) a 50% chance of rain means that there is a 50-50 shot that there WILL be a BRIEF afternoon T-storm... NOT that there is a 50% chance that it will rain all day. (That does happen occasionally, but VERY occasionally.) :umbrella:

Pack the rain ponchos, and keep going... the parks empty out when it starts to rain. :sunny:

www.wftv.com is a great local weather station. Don't worry about the rain, the showers are widely scattered so it could be raining on one side of the park and not the other.

Yeah...it's going to storm and downpour every day of my trip. I despise rain. I'm the sort of person who really wishes she bought trip insurance, because I'd consider cancelling if the rain was forecast bad enough.

Rain ruined my Feb 2004 trip. At least it won't be 40 degrees this time. :confused3

Anyway, the good thing about rain is there are no lines because everyone leaves.

Don't worry. The rain won't spoil your trip. It's that time of the year with the sea breezes that set up the afternoon rains. It rains, and the sun comes back out and you would never know it rained.

Hello, I too am a fellow Michigander. Last May when we went, I too was freaking about the rain forcasts. But really, you have nothing to worry about. Florida rain (short, quick) is nothing like Michigan rain (cold, wet, all day long). I remember they were saying thunderstorms every day of our trip and it didn't even rain once when we were there. You'll be just fine, but take your ponchos in case.

::yes::

Thanks for showing me the light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, here in MI it is a constant all day, cold rain!

Matt&jakesmom - I live in Rochester Hills.

Looks like it's ponchos for us - look out here we come!!! :flower:

We are leaving Thursday and coming home on Monday and like you checked the weather page to find that there is rain predicted for our entire trip. Oh Well, I'll just pack the ponchos and hope for the best.

this reminds me of when i went to M.G.M 1st day this year when i got lost
(but then i found out they where in the shop right in front of where i was standing :o) well anyway it was pouring down with rain and i was standing in the rain looking at a map until it tore apart. It was funny because everyone was running under shelter while im just standing there
:p

When we were there the rain prediction seemed to change every day. Monday it said Tuesday was 90% of rain, Tuesday morning it said 20% chance. And it was rain free on Tuesday. So, I guess in the World it changes by the hour. LOL
