We are heading to DLR the 2nd week of December. Should we buy ponchos ahead of time and bring them or buy them there? Any recommendations for the most effective ponchos? Thank you!

I say take them ahead of time unless you want a Disney souvenir poncho. Also, you might want to take an umbrella in case it's raining hard. I like having the umbrella to keep the rain out of my face instead of holding the hood together to keep it out.

I would also opt to buy some cheaper ones before you go. You can always get the souvenir one at the park if you really want, but I've found some cheap ones that fold up pretty small so they're easy to carry. Like Mary Jo said, I also have some small umbrellas (the kind the fold down to about 6-inches or less) and carry those around for when it's raining really hard. Just note that with an umbrella, you have to be really careful in crowds so you don't hit/poke anyone.

got ponchos at $ store last year and never used them but this year might need them there also not cheap plastic they feel thicker. Also will have two umbrellas one bigger one small that fits in my purse I carry every where. Fits in my water bottle holder built in to the purse bag.

Like others have said, we buy our ponchos ahead of time and bring them with us.

Amazon had a 2 pack of kids ponchos for like $8, totes brand I think which had good reviews. I also got an adult one. It's very small and reusable/ not just a plastic sheeting.

For three trips I bought 8 cheap ponchos for four of us, so we would have back-ups. They were terrible, but technically worked ok. The hoods don't stay on when you walk, and they're too short, also they tear really easily. This past trip I got a frogg togg poncho for each of us....waaayyy better! Had a drawstring to cinch a little by your face, and longer. Of course it didn't rain this trip, but great for Splash Mountain. I would buy those, cost was just under $10 each, but reusable, and so much better.
