Rain our whole vacation!

I just checked weather.com and it shows rain in the forecast from the day we arrive in Orlando to the day we leave. That stinks! I planned on spending a lot of time at the hotel pool


Is there anyone here who spent a rainy Disney vacation?

It's that time of the year in FL. You get the afternoon sea breeze storms but it only rains for a short time. It may rain in one part of the park and not the other.

Every summer at Disney has been FORECASTED to be rainy and sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. Most of the time it is a short shower and then back to sun and fun. I was riding Splash Mountain and it was pouring down rain on the drop. Talk about wet! Go and have a great time.

My last Disney vacation it rained every day. Just showers off and on. When the summer heat rolls in, the rain feels good.

When we went in June 2000-we had sun every day- no rain. We went the same time in June 2002 and it rained everyday but like one. We were initially bummed but we had a blast anyway. Put our ponchos on and enjoyed less crowded parks. Have fun!

Does the weather forcast say full rain or juc=st chance of rain or thunder showers? We just got back last night and the forcast for our dates [5/18-5/22] showed anywhere from 30 t0 40% chance of thunder storms every day we were going to be there. We never saw a thunder storm and only had some light showers late Saturday afternoon and early evening. Most days there will not be a gereral rainfall over a large area.

I'm sure it won't rain that much. Usually in Florida it will rain for 15 minutes and then stop. But just remember, the more rain, the less crowds!

I live here in Kissimmee, and the showers never last long. In case of a rainy afternoon, try Disney Quest. It is an indoor Theme Park with virtual simulation rides. You can build you own rollercoaster then ride it; they have Pirates of the Caribbean and many more features you will enjoy.

It was the second week of December a few years ago and we (me, DS10, DD3 w/ stroller, my mom, my sister, DN12, and DN10) were staying at the Poynesian for the first time. This was a dream come true to stay at this resort. Well, it did not just rain. It POURED every day but one and every night. It poured so hard that they had to cancel a night of the Christmas Party. Thank goodness I had brought ponchos for all of us and an extra one for the stroller too. It rained so hard we all had to take our shoes and socks off, roll up our pants and run as fast as we could to the GCH. But not once did we let the rain stop us and we still had a great time. We laugh about it now but it wasn't so funny then. It was definately a trip to remember.

We were at WDW last week and the weather forcast showed rain every day except Thursday....guess what?? It never rained the whole week!! You never know here in Florida as the weather changes constantly.

And people say there are no changes of season. This illustrates it right here.

In the winter, large air masses and fronts can create day-long rain. In the summer, afternoon showers are created when the sea breezes from both coasts collide. Summer rain is usually pretty scattered and over quickly.

We were there May 15 to 21. Every single day the Weather Channel WDW Forecast called for thunderstorms. We did not see one drop of rain the entire time.

My family went in June last year and it rained and/or stormed every day. I don't say this to depress you but so you'll be PREPARED! Take the ponchos for sure and an extra pair of tennis shoes as well. Even though it rained each day (afternoon usually) we still had plenty of sunshine too and never missed a day of swimming! It's just something you prepare for and then go right on with your plans. Have fun and don't stress!

It rained EVERY day & all day during our Dec 2002 trip at the Poly. Rain (& cold rain at that) while staying at the Poly is not a good thing because you have to run from your building to the main building & that we did not like.

That being said, we grabbed our ponchos, covered our stroller with garbage bags & hit the parks anyway. We did alot indoors at EPCOT, rode IASM alot, & made sure we had nice ps so we could linger over dinner & relax. We did not swim but that was because it was cold, not the rain.

Even with the rain we had a great time & looking back at our pictures everyone is smiling...so rain or shine, have fun!

It rained just about everyday we were there in June 2002...the rainiest it had been in a couple years...I was kinda bummed, but we waited for peaks of sun and then hit the parks with ponchos in tow. One afternoon it rained for about three hours pretty steadily, then about 7 the rain stopped and the sun peaked out, but there were dark clouds on the horizon. We hopped on a bus to MGM. The park had pretty much cleared out so we were able to walk on all the rides. It stayed dry and the dark clouds went another way. We were able to get great seats for Fantasmic and ended up having an enjoyable evening!

Dh and I were there in June 2002 for our belated honeymoon- and it POURED everyday! We had a rental car, and were staying offsite that time- it took us 15 minutes by car to get there from MK normally, but one day it took us over 2 hours because the storms had flooded the streets so much! It was quite a mess, but we still had a blast, because we were in the happiest place on earth!! DH kept saying, bring out the ponchos, and bring on the fun!

Good luck, and I hope it doesn't rain too much for you, but just remember, rain at Disney is better than sunshine almost anywhere else!
