weather.com says 50% chance of rain in Anaheim on Tuesday. Something about scattered showers. Do you think it will rain Tuesday? How should I pack Rain gear, rain coat, or poncho? Thank you for your help.:thanks:

Rain? In SoCal? I doubt it ;-). Bring a poncho, to be on the safe side. I've only seen it rain twice at DL. The first time it rained hard for 5-10 mins. Then it stopped and the sun came back out. The other time was about six months ago. It rained -- kind of hard -- for most of the day. But it kept crowds super low. I think you'll be fine. Have a great time!

If it's anything like the rain I experienced this past Tuesday...it lightly sprinkled for half an hour and stopped.

50% chance of rain forecast in California means there is a 50% chance there might be some isolated sprinkles in a few locations unlike a 50% chance of rain in say...Iowa, where that means it will probably rain 50% of the time!

Honestly when it comes to rain in SoCal, just because it says that there is rain forecasted for Tuesday, doesn't mean it will be that way tomorrow. you basically don't know it's going to rain until it rains because SoCal doesn't believe in future weather planning.

It's going to be 88 degrees. IF it rains, it will likely be a sprinkle and refreshing with that heat. Honestly, you might get some light fog in the morning or a bit of cloud cover that will burn off by 1PM at the latest. That would be my guess based on the weather in southern California this past week. If you must, bring a poncho, but I'd put good money on you not needing it.

I was in DL this past Tuesday with a 10% chance of rain. I would say it rained relatively hard (i.e., it was unpleasant to be outside) for 30-45 minutes. It then sprinkled on and off with various intensity for a couple of hours. I wish I had a poncho or an umbrella. Or especially a towel to wipe chairs off.

definitely take a rain poncho or umbrella, extra socks (those are good to have even if it doesn't rain), and appropriate footwear. i've been to disneyland many times in the rain and most of the time it doesn't last long, but it's always good to be prepared anyway. one time i was not prepared for rain and within minutes my feet were completely soaked. luckily one of the shops on main street had rain boots, so i was able to buy a pair to wear for the rest of our visit.

We were there this past Tuesday also. Waking up to sprinkles was a pleasant surprise! I was just in capris and a t-shirt all day and was just fine. Got a little wet, dried really fast, didn't change any of our plans.

Same story for us. Loved the smaller crowds last Tuesday morning! The only issue we ran into was that the first show at the Royal Theater was cancelled as some rain had blown in. As western Oregonians, we couldn't have cared less! :)

Sitting here in West Anaheim at 11 AM on a Beautiful Sunny Monday Morning. A bit overcast, but very nice.

As a local, I would love to get some rain for my front lawn (we have limited times when we can water).

But if it rains tomorrow, it will be very light.

Anytime "rain" is in the forecast, I would do the following.

Plan ahead, maybe wear a light jacket with a hood, or get a cheap poncho from a Dollar Store before you come.

Expect it to only rain for a few minutes at a time, so wherever you are in the parks, find an indoor attraction near you, and more than likely, after you are done, it has passed.

Yes, there are a RARE few days that cause rain issues at the parks, including rides that have to close (such as Alice In Wonderland, Mad Tea Party, and even Big Thunder RR (due to safety sensors), and that parades get changed (Disneyland has a special "Rainy Day Parade" event if the parade route is too wet for safety reasons.

But tomorrow, no worries....

Now, if you want to see a lot of water on Main Street, here is a fun look back... (Yes, I am also known as David Michael).

We too were in the parks last Tuesday. Due to the showers in the morning, Downtown Disney was empty and we only had to wait 10-15 minutes for Radiator Springs Racers. We loved it!
