Rain, MapQuest, and Tiny Airplanes... OH MY!!! A March 2010 Trip Report

First up was Sleeping Beauty.

IMG_4509.jpg

Then came Snow White. Our best character pictures have always been with Snow White for some reason!

IMG_4512.jpg

I was really excited that Jasmine was there because we didn't see her at World Showcase and she wasn't at the castle last time we went during lunch. I really want Ashlyn's picture with all the princesses (I was disappointed that we didn't get a picture with Tiana, but that means we'll just have to go again! :thumbsup2) Ashlyn really liked Jasmine's outfit and kept staring at it.

IMG_4514.jpg

I want to post a few pictures of when Belle came to visit because I just think they're really cool. These first two just make it seem like we all were old friends.

IMG_4517.jpg

IMG_4519.jpg

And I thought this picture was hilarious. Ashlyn was like "okay, Belle is gone so now I can eat!!!" :rotfl2:

IMG_4520.jpg

Ashlyn got her wand (so did I, and Aaron and my dad both got swords! I thought that was super cool) but no Wishing Star. I guess they don't do the Wishing Star ceremony at dinner? :confused3 I don't know, the one other time we've been it was at lunch. Oh, Aaron is talking about going back in September since we have to fly into Florida for a doctor's appointment for Ashlyn anyway and wants his family to come for a day. Of course, he started talking today about needing to make reservations at CRT!!! He is just wanting to go to Disney whenever possible now! I have done my job. :lmao: I don't even bring it up first much, I let him come up with the idea and then jump on it!!! :)

Oh, last time at lunch they brought Ashlyn a free sundae, which I thought was really sweet. It was vanilla ice cream with some hot fudge. This time, maybe again because it was dinner time, they brought it again but this time it had Mickey sprinkles and a chocolate crown!!! We all thought it was the coolest thing ever!!!

IMG_4523.jpg

Man, I wish I wrote down our waiter's name because he was the BEST!!!!!!!!!! Really funny and very nice.

I like this picture from inside the castle. Ashlyn wouldn't just sit and smile for Aaron. She was just feeling goofy. Must have been all that sugar. :stitch:

IMG_4529.jpg

After dinner, and some pictures in front of the castle of course, we decided to head over to check the wait time for the Haunted Mansion. It was walk on so of course we rode! Ashlyn likes the ride. She gets a little nervous when all the lights go out in the stretching room, especially since this time some people in the room screamed, but all she does is grip whoever is holding her a little tighter.

OH!! I had seen this online a few times and thought it was so cool. Imagine how excited I was when, while walking back to use our FP's for Peter Pan, we saw this going on!!!

IMG_4545.jpg

Shortly after we rode Peter Pan, it was getting to be Ashlyn's bedtime so we went back to Pop. Of course, I was excited to see where Towel Puppy was and if the Mousekeeper had kept up the game. She did! :cool1:

IMG_4547.jpg

She put it on the nightstand and had it holding the pen. :)

Next update will be about our last day. :(

Ohhhh the desert looks simply scrumpious
Ive seen the painters online and they are so talented.
Glad mousekeeping is keeping up the game.

What a great update! It seems like you guys had such a great time and got to have some great experiences with your dad. :lovestruc

Another great update! :thumbsup2

Ashlyn sounds just like Reya as far as the haunted mansion. She loves the actual ride, but gets a little nervous in the stretching room. She'll hide her face in our shoulder and sqeeze our neck.

Reading about your experience with your dad is bringing back a LOT of wonderful memories that I had with mine when we went to WDW together. I bet it was really hard to say goodbye to him when it it was time. I always get so depressed whenever I have to say bye to my dad. He was out here for an entire month back in December when I had Jayden, and it was one of the hardest days in my life when he had to go back to California. I cried all day long.

Anyway, great pictures of Ashylyn and the princesses. I'm glad she liked It's a small World. That turned out to be one of Reya's favorites too. Jayden never got a chance to ride it, but I think he would have loved it.

I look forward tomore. ;)

How sweet! I just love your updates(:
I've always wanted to eat lunch/dinner with the Princesses, it looks so cute:goodvibes

We've never done CRT but we did the Princess dinner in Norway and my daughter was in heaven! Those pictures are priceless!

Whew, I got really behind lagging on my dis time the past few days!

We have a picture of DH at the MK that we try to replicate every trip. And every trip we get the placement wrong...I don't even know if we know where the original is at this point. So, I know how that is. You did pretty well!

Your pearl is so pretty! I bet that was fun. We want to do that this year too.

Cute that you moved the towel puppy around with the tip. I love it! I especially love that you were the one playing the game, not Ashlyn. Haha. I'm like that too. Glad your mousekeeper was into it, anyway!

Oh no for teething. That's never fun. I'm glad Ashlyn ate some new stuff on this trip and that she brought those habits home! Send some of that good eating over here, DS doesn't eat anything but 'butter (sunbutter, we don't eat peanut butter) and jelly sandwiches. Sad, but true.

Wow, Ashlyn looks pretty happy with the pooh characters for a baby who just woke up! Too bad she didn't like Eeyore though. I can't imagine what they think about the characters when they're little though, so it's understandable.

RE: Pin trading...there are some CM's that only trade with kids (they have green lanyards, I think?) but most trade with adults too. DH wants to trade this upcoming trip, badly! He figures that he'll just linger around when DS trades to see if the CM has any pins he wants. I'll have to look and see who we bought pins from on e-bay, we got a random assortment and there were such great pins, we don't want to trade them!

I loved hearing about your Dad's reaction to MK...the castle and main street. I'm so glad that he was there with you! That's great that you surprised him with dinner in the castle!
I love Ashlyn's pictures with the princesses. How precious is that Snow white one?!?

Good brainwashing of your DH. I'm glad he's all about disney now! Can't go back too many times!

That ice cream is really cute! Disney has such festive desserts.

Well, I'm glad I'm all caught up. I hope your last day is a long one!

Your trip report is awesome so far and your daughter is adorable. The castle dinner looked like a lot of fun and I love the pictures of your daughter with Belle and Snow White. Can't wait to hear more:cool1:

She really enjoyed her ice cream. I had ordered the cream cheese buckle like last time and it is just SO good! I love it.

What a great update! It seems like you guys had such a great time and got to have some great experiences with your dad. :lovestruc

Thank you! It really was a very special trip. :goodvibes We are 95% sure we're going back down for a day in September and are trying to get Aaron's parents to come down from Alabama.

Another great update! :thumbsup2

Thank you very much. I'm so glad that my update brought back some great memories! It is always hard to say goodbye to my dad, too. I'm totally making sure it's not another 2 years until we see him again!!!

Awww, thank you! Our two experiences at the castle were both just fabulous and Aaron is talking about going AGAIN in September if his parents come. Heck, he'll probably want to go even if they don't make it down. :) He just thinks it's the best thing ever and I don't disagree at all. We are going to try a new character dining experience, too, though. Possibly breakfast at Crystal Palace. :confused3

We haven't done the Princess dinner in Norway but I want to one day. I've heard good things.

That is really cool that there is a picture you try to replicate every year! Ours is just the family picture in front of the castle. :)

 Yeah, I love doing little things like the towel puppy game while I'm at Disney. I like to think that it brought a little smile to the Mousekeeper's face. :) I can't wait to be able to do things like that with Ashlyn. :goodvibes

Ashlyn loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then wouldn't touch them, now is eating them again. :confused3 The past day or two she barely touches anything because we think her teeth are extra bothering her. :( My poor baby. I'm sending what little good eating vibes I have your way! :wizard: Well, I need to keep some, but you can have a few, too. :rotfl:

Thank you so much!

Sorry I've been MIA this weekend! We had our third Disney movie night on Saturday. Plus Aaron rented a couple of girly movies from the library that I had been wanting to see for a long time. So we watched 27 Dresses and Enchanted this weekend, too. I'm hoping to post about our movie night tonight! Then unless something crazy comes up, I'm planning on posting about our last day at Disney on Tuesday!

I LOVE Enchanted! It was instantly one of my favorites!!:lovestruc:lovestruc

I thought 27 dresses was mindless but cute. I haven't seen Enchanted all the way through yet. I've seen the beginning 2 or 3 times.... (I like it. I just haven't had time to watch the whole thing!)

I love it because it shows the sillyness of the fairytale while still managing to be a fairytale if that makes sense. Anyway when you get the chance to watch it all the way through be sure to look for the treats Disney included- they recreated scenes from several classics which is another reason I love it.

I liked 27 dresses...I saw it on an airplane some time and I was so happy it was the in-flight movie!

Enchanted is SO cute, the music is amazing. You'll love it once you watch all of it!

I really enjoyed both movies. I liked 27 Dresses more than I thought I would. I thought Enchanted was really cute, too, and agree with Hope with how it kinda pokes fun at fairytales but is still a fairytale. Aaron and I loved pointing out the recreated scenes. :) Definitely a must-buy movie for us.

This isn't an update for my TR, but I wanted to share the movie night we had on Saturday! It was Up night for us! We had hot dogs and french fries and for dessert I made cUPcakes (got the idea from www.bakerella.com). They didn't turn out as cute as they could have. I know what I did wrong, though, and can't wait to try the idea out again.

IMG_4650.jpg

I couldn't think of anything new to do with Ashlyn for the activity, so I just printed out a coloring page to color with her. I was in the kitchen working on the cUPcakes when she seemed like she wanted something new to do, so Aaron sat down with her. She'll color on her own, but she really seems to enjoy coloring with us. They were just so cute coloring together I had to get a picture. :goodvibes

IMG_4649.jpg

I was just going to pick up a few balloons for decoration, then Aaron had the idea of tying them onto one of Ashlyn's toy houses. Then I remembered the template for a house on family.go.com and so I printed that out on regular computer paper, put it together, and tied the balloons to it!!! The blocks are tied on as well because we were trying to get it to float around and not just sit at the ceiling. :lmao:

IMG_4637.jpg

Ashlyn had a BLAST with the balloons!! We never really thought of getting them besides for parties or something, but she had so much fun we're going to make a point of getting her one every now and then just so she can play. :)

We are also in the process of trying to figure out if we'll be going to WDW for a day in September. We started talking to my DMIL last night and she's going to discuss it with DFIL and DBIL (though we're pretty sure DBIL won't come). Aaron's talking about staying at POFQ or POR. We've only ever stayed at Pop so this would be a really exciting change. Any suggestions on which one to stay at? He is also talking about going to Crystal Palace for breakfast and CRT for lunch! He is seriously getting into the whole Disney thing. :woohoo: I'm not going to get excited about the trip until we hear from his family, though. If for some reason they don't want to travel down to Orlando, we are going to go up to Alabama to see them. So right now I'm just excited about Aaron loving Disney so much!!! :cool1: I told him last night "honey, I did a good job converting you." He just looked at me and said "I don't know what you're talking about!" :rolleyes1 You know, with the look he always gets when he knows he's been figured out. :rotfl:

That little floating house is so cute! What a great idea!

Staying at a moderate is exciting. We visited POR and French Quarter on our last trip and I liked French Quarter much better. POR was too sprawling for me. Which surprised me, since I LOVED the look of riverside on the planning DVD and all the pictures I had seen so I didn't expect to love French Quarter so much! Good luck deciding!

Oh yes, and very good job converting him!

OMGoodnes!! I love the floating house! :goodvibes And those cUPcakes are cute too- I love bakerella (well, in theory anyway- I like looking at and drooling over it but never get around to actually doing any of it, lol).

Thank you so much! And thank you for your opinions on POR and POFQ. I didn't even think of watching the planning DVD to check it out, even if just for fun. :) I have been hearing most people like POFQ over POR.

Thank you so much! Man, I love bakerella. I make cake pops every so often and everyone LOVES them! I'm planning on making some Easter ones. Easter is sneaking up on me, though, and I have a lot of stuff to do so I better get on it! I've also made the mini pumpkin pies and they just turned out so cute. I'll be making them again during Halloween, for sure.
